Infinity Inc #15 (1985)Chroma is an androgynous space being who shows up on different planets to sing melodious dirges about the apocalypse. Obsidian, who is literally made of shadows, is like “I’m already goth AF so nah man” and punches Chroma out. As a result, Los Angeles and the rest of the Infinity Inc members are bummed out. Action Comics [vol 1] #466 (1976)In a retread of previous Superman stories we’ve done, Lex Luthor finds a way to make not only Superman young but also manages to de-age Batman and Flash. Or does he? Actually, he doesn’t. He just uses teenage androids, kicks the Batman one into oblivion and makes Superman punch himself a whole lot. Marvel Two-In-One #30 (1977)The Thing and Alicia Masters eat lunch at Piccadilly Circus in London when they are interrupted by some chaos. A chino-clad Ben runs off to investigate and is ambushed by a Hydra-influenced Spider-Woman (who Ben insists is Spider-Man’s sister). Nick Fury tells Ben to shut his damn mouth. Later, Alicia gets nabbed by Spider-Woman so she can ALSO become a mutated woman who is ALSO a spider (a Spider-Woman). Jonah Jameson, seeing that the Big Man is dead and all. But he did try to take over the NYC mob with a padded suit and lifts in his boots so you can’t count out his ambition. Not sure if you knew this but as of 1986-ish, Mysterio was in jail like FIVE TIMES and somehow keeps walking the streets. In this ep, we learn about his humble beginnings as a stuntman that just wanted to kill a superhero to his storied career of crime, teaming with other bulbous helmeted villains such as the Wizard. Superman #282 (1974)In this predictably insane Bronze Age tale, Superman gets young via a Lex Luthor ray and starts doing improv with Perry White. He then goes on an acid trip and imagines Lex Luger’s face in the sky challenging him to a fight. In the ensuing battle, Superman gets ultra dense and burrows down into the earth with Lex, having a nice swim in some lava. Phantom Stranger [Vol 2] #37 (1975)A hapless cabbie is forced by an escaping crook to run over Phantom Stranger and his skinny legs. When that goes awry, the poor lady gets shot, forcing her loud husband to take an unethical gig faking a sarcophagus. When THAT goes awry, the husband and Phantom Stranger have to walk the plank into a boiling vat of Gatorade. Thankfully, the dude becomes a mad mummy and starts press-slamming villains like Butch Reed. X-Men: Curse of the Man-Thing #1 (2021)A disturbed woman has performed Sub-Zero’s finisher on Man-Thing and is currently living his body, WEEKEND AT BERNIE’s style. Flammable spores have infiltrated the globe’s metropolitan areas, immolating jabroni citizens and generally being gross to look at. The Outsiders [vol 2] #0 (1994)Post Zero Hour, when everything’s all screwed up, Eradicator assumes leadership of the Outsiders team in LA. Halo embarrasses herself in front of the youth at the Beverly Center while Looker has a blood smoothie by the pool. Marvel Spotlight #14 (1974)Daimon Hellstrom returns home from a wild night of being a demon offspring to scare the hell out of his milkman. He gets a call to come to St. Louis to check out a local college’s communications building that has being haunted by ice demons living in the walls and messing with the college radio station playlists.
