Perhaps we have all wanted at times to be able to ask Jesus questions and get answers. The Gospels reveal poignant moments when Individuals did get the chance to ask their questions. The answers Jesus gave still amaze us today. Several times over the rest of the summer we will look at some of those Q and A's. Colossians offers a model of deep abiding love and support.  Relationships in the faith community are critical in offering support, perspective and eternal friendships.  Our connection with each other as disciples of Christ create common ground.  In our shared faith we can discover holy relationships within the Christian community and the world.  Support the show

There are great heroes of faith. When we think of them, we may tend to consider great missionaries, theologians, preachers or evangelists. But the greatest hero’s and most important influences in our lives are often much closer. They are family, close friends and associates. We continue in our study of Colossians.  Paul loves the Colossian people, it’s very clear in the way that he talks to them.  His hope for them is that they are happy, safe and healthy, staying on the right path.  We hope for the same things for those we love and from whom we are separated.  We are all bound together by the same Holy Spirit who strengthens us and keeps us connected. Today our worship focus is the third of three Sundays focused on the story of Jonah. In this final chapter, Jonah is mad at God. The reasons may seem appropriate for some and silly to others. But we all know what it is to be mad and some even dare to be mad at God. Sometimes we can be mad at God for a long time. Our focus today will be on what that meant to Jonah and what it means for us when our mad is all we have to give to God.Support the show

Jesus asks us, “Who do you say that I am.”  Throughout the year, our confirmands have been answering this question as they’ve grown in faith and prepared to make a commitment to Christ and his church today.  It’s a question we all need to wrestle with—who do we understand Christ to be?  It’s a question fundamental to our faith and our Christian identity.  So who is Christ to you?Support the show

Do you know of any who need healing? What parts of your life are broken? What relationships are you in that need to be restored or laid aside? Who do you know that needs the gift of a new chance and a new future? Lift them up to the Lord. Offer yourself today in worship. We have heard the Easter story many times. We know that Mary went to the tomb and wept when she found the body of Jesus missing. Twice she was asked why she was weeping. Wouldn’t that have been obvious? What are we to do with our tears and what does faith have to say about the moments of our lives when tears flow? Come and worship the Risen Lord.Support the show
