In Sundays sermon, Ben spoke on conflict in marriage, and the common communication struggle of being heard or NOT heard by your spouse. My husband and I struggle with this, and often have unresolved conflict, but then he wants to be intimate and I am put off by not feeling heard and frankly dont want to have sex after an unresolved argument.

When two people come into the union of marriage, they both bring their own trauma, baggage, and woundedness into the relationship that can cause rifts in the future when these underlying issues have not been identified and addressed. So, when sore spots are hit, we try to cover them up so that they can't be hurt more.
