European adventures are the focal point at start of the football chat with us discussing how the teams will do and whether they will progress. We reflect on results last week which put them all in with a decent chance. There are positives too from a Scotland point of view with David Turnbull having a strong start to the season. There is some fun to be had as we discuss pet hates in football which could probably be a podcast in itself. Cold pies and team lineups being put out in a certain way being a popular theme. In a new feature, we get everyone to come up with a headline from the games at the weekend with Danny being the winner this week. To conclude we have

Although Scotland aren't there, we couldn't avoid discussing a remarkable World Cup where some big nations like Germany, Canada and Brazil have fallen at the first hurdle, whilst Jamaica, South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco are unlikely names in the last 16. It shows the gap between the bigger nations and the rest is slowly narrowing. We end by talking about our chances of a good Nations League campaign, where there is hope that the Hampden attendance record can be beaten, despite some challenging circumstances. • S12E57 Taxi Sunday & Cup Final Preview

    26/05/2023 Duración: 01h06min

It's another Women's Football Special as John B and Dave are joined by two Clare's, ex-Rangers player Clare Gemmell and Celtic podcaster Clare Wilde of 90 minute Cynic. We review what was a dramatic ending to the SWPL1 title race that were played out at Ibrox and Celtic Park, an incredible statement in itself for the Women's game. In a three-way battle for the title, it looked as though Celtic were about to become Champions for the first time, but Lauren Davidson snatched an injury time winner to wrestle the title from their grasp, and also take the crown back from Rangers who were also in the hunt. It meant that the taxi taking Fiona McIntyre and the trophy to Celtic Park was rerouted to Ibrox, but to hand it to Glasgow City who claimed a 16th title, which is considered their sweetest success. Dave spoke to Leanne Ross and Hayley Lauder at full time to gauge their reaction. The rest of the league season is then rounded off where Hearts made some great strides by finishing fourth, Aberdeen ended a troubled

In another throwback special, we look back twenty years to season 2002/03 which saw the league come down to a final day shootout, a trip to a European final for Celtic, and seventh treble for Rangers. John B is joined by regular retro specialist Krys for the Celtic perspective and returning guest John W for the Rangers perspective. We look at the remarkable mirror of results the two sides had, with one title defining exception, as well of course at the five showdowns the two sides had across the season. Discussing the various qualities that both sides had at that time, as well as the fate of a few other clubs that season, the focus inevitably turns to that remarkable run which took Celtic not just to Europe after Christmas for the first time in twenty years, but all the way to a European final for the first time in thirty three years. One which Krys was fortunately enough to attend in person. But it was Rangers who would finish the season with all of the domestic trophies in their cabinet, from the League C

  • S12E50 Women's Football Review

    21/04/2023 Duración: 43min

It's the latest of our Women's Football review as John B and Dave take a look at recent events in the Scottish game. The Scotland National Team had a good Easter weekend with a 1-0 win over World Cup hosts Australia in London, and followed this up with a resounding 4-0 win over Costa Rica at Hampden. 17 year old Emma Watson grabbed most of the headlines with two eye catching performances, and two goals at the National Stadium, and the guys talk up her prospects, including a potential move to Manchester United though staying at Rangers can't be ruled out. With the inaugral Nations League draw looming, it was two confidence boosting wins for Pedro Martinez Losa's side as they seek to reach the next European Championship Finals in 2025. Before last weekend, Glasgow City were eight points clear of Celtic and nine ahead of defending champions Rangers. Consecutive home defeats to the Old Firm within four days has whittled that gap down to just three points between the three sides. Can Leanne Ross galvanise her si
