Prepare yourself for 63 minutes in stoner doom hell as Ian tells the story of Sleep's mighty's masterpiece DOPESMOKER, which we play in its entirity. Hour 2 of the show features some shorter blasts of brutality with THC-laced grindcore from Cannabis Corpse, Brutal Truth, and Cephalic Carnage. We'll also plumb the depths of drug-induced despair with long-awaited new music from misanthropic resin-scrapers Eyehategod and weed-worshipping sludge fiends Bongzilla, and we'll even dig the mighty Black Sabbath's marijuana anthem "Sweet Leaf" out of The Graveyard, plus loads more. Doom and Stoner Doom are not the originators of long songs but they definitely carry the form in epic proportions. This episode is dedicated to the long-format song and its ability to take you on a journey. We start with a little Vancouver band called Cambodia (2003-2006) and a 22-minute Funeral Doom track that will leave you devastated and yet with a glimmer of hope, Cope is real a song made for this last year and how many of us have gotten by. This is followed by Vile Creature, 2021 Juno Nominee for Best Metal Album, Glory! Glory! Apathy Has Took Helm!, and they let us ponder on When The Path Is Unclear. Then it is time to truly get ready to travel to altered states with Aiauasca from Montreal, in their 35-minute hallucination with the means to heal your mind. Next, it is time to get Stoned and Astral travel with Saint Karloff's 40-minute Interstellar Voodoo. Sit back and buckle up cuz we're going on a space ride. We kick today's episode of with some suffocating slabs of doom metal from Jupiterian, Kult Of The Wizard, Sons Of Otis, Windhand, and the almighty Electric Wizard! We'll take a journey down south with an epic track from Rwake's 2011 post sludge opus Rest, and also cruise the cosmos to some spacey heavy psych from new releases by Samsara Blues Experiment and Yuri Gagarin. The final part of the show will feature some classic heavy metal with anthems from Cirith Ungol's phenomenal new Forever Black album, and Slough Feg 's tremendous 2019 release New Organon. We'll also play a couple of Canadian '80s metal favourites from Exciter and Anvil, and we'll finish the show by digging a track from Manilla Road's essential 1983 album Crystal Logic out of the Graveyard. We slide in some of the darker demon from the underworld Weird Tales from Poland, and Heron one of our favourite local demons. Now for the Sacrificial Lamb we let the Witches guide us through, lead the way is Blood Ceremony from Canada, Frayle from Cleveland, and Brno from Argentina. With the conjuring complete what rises from the ashes are the hedonistic pleasures of The Crooked Whispers, Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Chapel, Mission of Christ, Mr. Bungle and Gatecreeper.
