UFC 294, held on October 22, 2023 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was one of the most anticipated events of the year. The main event was a lightweight title rematch between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski, with Makhachev originally scheduled to fight Charles Oliveira before Oliveira withdrew due to injury. The fight was a dominant performance by Makhachev, who knocked out Volkanovski in the first round with a vicious head kick. Makhachev showed his grappling prowess throughout the fight, controlling Volkanovski on the ground and landing strikes until the referee stopped the fight. In the co-main event, Khamzat Chimaev defeated Kamaru Usman via majority decision in a closely contested fight. Chimaev started strong, taking Usman down and controlling him on the ground in the first round. Usman bounced back in the second round, landing strikes and taking Chimaev down himself. The third round was back-and-forth, with both fighters landing strikes and neither able to gain a clear advan

UFC Vegas 81 was an event packed with exciting fights and unique finishes. The main event delivered an exciting match between top featherweight contenders Edson Barboza and Sodiq Yusuff. This week I got to sit down with a legend of combat sports, Chris "Lights Out" Lytle. This man has done everything there is to do, as a veteran of well over 50 MMA fights, 15 professional boxing matches and he remains undefeated as a bare knuckle boxer. That's just the fights that are on record, as Chris clears up during the course of the interview. Aside from his impressive fight career, Chris is also a full-time firefighter, broadcaster for the BKFC and even has his own label of bourbon. Noche UFC was a mixed martial arts event held on September 16, 2023, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was the first to be held on Mexican Independence Day, and it featured a main card of 11 fights, including the UFC women's flyweight championship rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko. The main event was a closely contested five-round fight, with both fighters showcasing their skills and toughness. Grasso landed a big knockdown in the second round, but Shevchenko rallied and came close to finishing the fight in the fourth. In the end, the judges scored the fight a split draw, meaning that Grasso retained her UFC women's flyweight championship.
