We're engrained with the idea that we should always seek guidance from others - our parents, our teachers, our managers, our careers counsellors…. Instead we need to start listening to that “whisper”. We need to understand that the answers required to navigate our lives actually come from deep within. I often hear people say that they can’t be an entrepreneur in the "industry they work in", or tell me that they can’t start a business because they’re “too young”. Today I take two questions and ultimately explain why none of this matters - if you truly want to be an entrepreneur or if you want to build a business, then don't let your age or industry deter you. #AskJackD

It’s not enough to want to change the world. It’s not enough to have the intent to make a difference. If you want your vision to travel you need to be able to operationalise it. I see business as vehicle to that enables contribution, and money as the necessary fuel to drive that contribution forward on a large scale. #AskJackD

Self-love is the practice of acting in alignment with your own happiness. It is a topic that people shy away from, as it is often confused with conceit or arrogance. In fact, those two traits can be the first signs of a lack of true self-love. It is not about waking up in the morning with the urge to hug yourself; it is simply the practice of treating yourself and speaking to yourself the same way you would your best friend. #AskJackD When you make a mistake, do you beat yourself up about it and remind yourself of all the reasons why you should give up trying, or do you coach yourself, offering the words needed to ensure you come back stronger?

I’m SO happy someone asked today’s question! I’ve noticed a lot of job shaming happening on social lately - people who say the only way to lead a successful life is to be an entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur myself, I actually don’t think this is true. Leading a successful life comes down to doing what feels right for you and what aligns to who you are. Every human is as unique as their fingerprint and how you choose to engage in your life and career should be as unique as you.

If you're somebody with a dream, somebody who wants to succeed, somebody who wants to contribute to the world then you need to work incredibly hard. You need to hustle. However it's not sustainable or productive to hustle all the time. You need to build in and ritualise pauses into your life that enable you to reconnect, rejuvenate and ultimately realign.
