  • Episode 8 - RAD pROBcast - Interview with Christina Williams

    25/06/2021 Duración: 43min

As my wife, Christina, and I gear up for summer vacation in Las Vegas, we discuss a recent weekend road trip that opened our eyes to just how stir crazy, socially inept, and awkward people have become over the last year of isolation. In addition to people on the road seemingly transporting dead bodies and randomly stopping on freeway onramps, we also do a deep dive into the wonders of Central California, including two of its’ shiniest gems, Turlock and Modesto (and why we never need to be in that part of the state every again). If you need a little religion, there’s always the Vegan World Prayer, and we give a review of one of our favorite comedians, Bill Burr, and why he should stick with comedy and walk away from the podcasting.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Episode 7 - RAD pROBcast - Chef Q from Restaurant Q1227

    22/06/2021 Duración: 53min

Chef Q from restaurant Q1227 in Roseville, California joins me for a deep dive on how you go from being the youngest of 17 children birthed by his mom, to owning one of the hottest, most acclaimed, (and delicious) spots in Nor Cal. We discuss his time in the Navy, his passion for food, slimy okra, 42-ounce tomahawk rib-eyes, and how he navigated opening a restaurant just 3 months before Covid changed everything. We discuss the business side of motivating and holding employees accountable, how you build relationships with customers, and the difference between being a Black-owned business and a business owned by a Black man. Faith, Family and Food drive this man (in that order) and it shows…oh, yeah…and we find out what the Q stands for!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Rob's Soapbox - And Speaking Of...

    20/06/2021 Duración: 11min

July 1st marks the halfway mark for 2021…which in and of itself is noteworthy since a year ago, it felt like it took decades to get this point. Suddenly, 2021 is moving at warp speed for many of us, which is a good thing, as it indicates a return to American normalcy, which we’re seeing from coast to coast. Parents are getting in fights on Little League fields, people are angry over cereal that celebrates Pride month, and the fact that it's 100 degrees in June is somehow news once again. See? Normal! America has resumed being angry, upset, and worried about stupid stuff rather than a pandemic, which is all good news. So why not take a moment to take stock of where we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re headed? After all, now that we don’t really have Covid to consume us (although many will make sure we still fear it for a long, long time), we can all turn our attention to the myriad of things wrong with the nation in each of our eyes. Remember that? Remember how, back in 2019, we would all bitch about stuf

  • Episode 6 - RAD pROBcast - Interview with Deputy Lacey Nelson

    18/06/2021 Duración: 57min

Deputy Lacey Nelson is back! After winning the hearts of RAD listeners over a year ago during her first on-air appearance for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Lacey returns with a ton of surprises! She’s still a cop, but she’s also an elected official, and has lofty aspirations and a 13-year action plan. Other than that, not much is new; other than completion of her Master’s Degree with an eye on her doctorate, a burgeoning public speaking career, and being the Community Liaison for Paint Sacramento Pink, an organization that gives 100% of campaign donations directly to the women and men of Greater Sacramento who need assistance with breast cancer diagnosis and provide Treatment, Education, Support, and Awareness.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Episode 163 - RAD Prodcast - Sexology with Lindsey from Sac In The Sheets

    17/06/2021 Duración: 01h37s

Brando interviews a sex blogger and aspiring Sexologist, Lindsey, and they discuss subjects ranging from the taboo, the disgusting, the uncomfortable, and the natural as it relates to sex and our society. Lindsey's blog at sacinthesheets.com provides resources, education, information and a place to discuss what no one wants to talk about... sex! Topics like cleaning sex toys, "leaky" vaginas, inclusive language like "vagina owners" and "penis owners", as well as how to bring up/discuss kinks with new sexual partners. Also, in the wake of the "Pride Cereal Box" debate, they touch on how to discuss sex with younger generations without stigmatizing or downplaying the seriousness at which it should be discussed (with trusted adults/parents/guardians of course). Additionally, Brando reveals instances of sexual abuse as adolescents and a listener of the Prodcast with a similar story asks for advice on how to navigate the topic of discussion of sexual exploration vs abuse with family members.&nbs

  • Rob's Soapbox - Stop Saying You Don't Have A Choice

    13/06/2021 Duración: 08min

As America’s most populous state re-opens, it’s a good time for an instructive look at just how stupid, ignorant, arrogant, misinformed, and un-American too many Americans have become. On June 15th, California will lift almost all of its’ Covid-related restrictions, including its’ mask mandate. Which is odd, since I live in California and haven’t worn a mask inside a business since September of 2020 (with rare exceptions like taking parents to medical facilities). Do you know why that is? Because I had a choice…I could follow the rules imposed by the almighty government, or I could choose to live my life the way that I wanted to, and accept the consequences. As it turns out, there weren’t any consequences, ever…but I was fully prepared to leave a business that asked me to wear a mask because I had that choice. The business could choose to tell me I had to wear a mask in order to shop, and I could choose to not shop there. See…choices? We all have them.Which brings us to the vaccine, and an asinine and disturbi

  • Episode 5 - RAD pROBcast - Interview with Christina Williams

    11/06/2021 Duración: 55min

This week, my wife Christina and I discuss the spiciness and racial identity of Sprite soda, Kyle being a creep, how many people we’d invite to a party today that were also at our wedding party just 3 years ago, toxic masculinity, her scatterbrain, Christina’s recently found green thumb (which includes an appearance on the video of one of our large plants), and our reaction to a neighborhood punk-child and his equally ridiculous parents. Oh, and of course, masks.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Rob's Soapbox - America's Next 9/11

    06/06/2021 Duración: 10min

We knew 9/11 was coming. Eight months prior to the attacks of September 11, 2001, something called the Hart-Rudman report was issued which spelled out explicitly the likeliness of the events of what would ultimately occur, and it was almost universally ignored by all. Most elected officials that the report was written for never read it, and the media barely mentioned it. The most prominent story on it was a blurb on page 23 of the New York Times in early 2001. https://www.aspeninstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/files/content/docs/pubs/jsp-Alarms-Unheeded.pdf We knew 9/11 was coming and we did nothing. We didn’t take it seriously, and we didn’t change a thing that could have prevented it, even though we had several choices, and the report made a myriad of recommendations. And all of us are to blame, because Americans, writ large, waved away such a suggestion as absurd and arrogantly suggested nothing like that could ever happen. We are about to repeat our history, with much graver results. We

  • Episode 4 - RAD pROBcast - Interview with Christina Williams

    04/06/2021 Duración: 59min

This week, my wife Christina and I dive further into issues ranging from sex accidents, the mispronunciation of words, how fast we’ve driven the Corvette, road rage, guys creeping on hot girls (including her) on social media, and Christina answers her first legal question since graduating law school explaining why businesses can or can’t require you to wear a mask long after any mandates exist. At the end, we ponder how much Tahoe Blue Vodka I drink before Christina ultimately coaches people on how to call into the RAD show.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Rob's Soapbox - What Else?

    31/05/2021 Duración: 13min

Let us start with this premise; we must acknowledge that almost everyone loves to reflect longingly on “better times;” it’s not just an “American thing,” it’s part of the human condition. We like to claim that times “before,” were far better than now. The “before” can be anything from before we, ourselves, were born, or simply a time earlier in our own personal lives.Much of this comes from imagery and personal memories. Americans aware of their nations’ history often wax nostalgic about the 1950’s; this is almost always associated with pictures and stories we were told of the post-World War II high, the booming economy, and the nation as a whole having established itself as the world’s leader.  Sounds great, doesn’t it? And it was…unless you were a woman or a person of color. Things weren’t so great for them, let alone anyone questioning their sexuality or even their gender.Generation X-ers, (people of my age), tend to glamorize the 90’s, thanks to the fact that the economy was booming, most of us were

  • Episode 160 - RAD Prodcast - UFOs & Colonel Philip J. Corso - with Brent from SPIRIT

    26/05/2021 Duración: 01h40min

Brent (aka Shaggy from SPIRIT https://sacspirit.com/) joins Brando in an in-depth discussion about UFOs, from the recent press coverage (most notably the latest 60 Minutes interviews), why there is little public interest, and what it will take to keep the conversation relevant. Brent and Brandon revisit the famous interview with Colonel Philip J. Corso on Art Bell’s “Coast To Coast AM” radio show from 1997 and draws comparisons to how the government and the public reacted to UFOs and alien contact, then and now.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Rob's Soapbox - Father Time Is Losing His Touch

    23/05/2021 Duración: 06min

When it comes to mortality, and specifically, the understanding that we all, eventually, must recognize our limitations, I’ve always said that the only true undefeated heavyweight champion is Father Time. He wins every time…he gets all of us. In other words, put bluntly; we all get old, we all decay, and we all die. Although it seems as though lately, Father Time is slacking off. Years ago, it became nouveau to exclaim that “50 is the new 40,” or whatever decade dissolving version suited the speaker. And certainly, it is undeniable that modern medicine, a better understanding of self-care, and a drive to stay relevant and active has motivated a large portion of our society to find ways to stay relevant, hip, and flourishing. We’ve talked about this phenomenon for a while, and now, as the world rejoins normalcy, we see again the same trends we’ve been seeing for years; adults previously described as “middle-aged,” are going to, hanging out with, partying with, and sometimes dating (or marr

  • Episode 3 - RAD pROBcast - Interview with Jammi from InkOffme

    21/05/2021 Duración: 01h02min

Jammi from Inkoff.me helps me take a deep dive on what gives Barbara Walters sexual gratification, strange things she witnessed stuck inside of people during her years working the ER, and why her name is spelled wrong. Jammi also explains how she’s raised a teenage son who DOESN’T have a social media account and she even cries at one point! OH, and we also spend some time exploring the hypothesis that some people who go to prison might actually be human beings who genuinely want and deserve a helping hand at reforming themselves and rejoining society and how that is actually the driving force behind everything they do at Inkoff.me. It’s yet another reminder of the amazing family all of us in the RAD universe are and how blessed we are to be working together to live, laugh, love, and help one another.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Episode 159 - RAD Prodcast - Feel Old Yet & The First Dance

    19/05/2021 Duración: 25min

This week, I take a trip down memory lane and tap into the geriatric millennial wormhole. Want to feel old? Guess what?! Y2K kids can now drink alcohol in the US, the Quarter-Pounder turns 50 and The Oregon Trail turns 50, and we are closer to in time to 2050 than we are to the 80s... Great Scott!!!With the world opening back up, and wedding season creeping up on us, David and his fiancé are seeking suggestions for the first dance at their wedding from the RAD Prodcast group. I am no help with suggestions like Closer by Nine Inch Nails and F*** Her Gently by Tenacious D, but other Prodheads have some great suggestions and other gems that you may consider adding to your every day playlist! See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Rob's Soapbox - Un-Masking The Masked

    16/05/2021 Duración: 11min

What a week…the liars, drama queens, look-at-me crowd, and control freaks were all exposed in less than 48 hours and it was a glorious sight to behold. This is it…our chance…the time when the “silent majority,” that we’ve all been talking about so much, yet hearing from so little, gets to seize the moment, momentum and moral high ground and reclaim society. After 15 months of being told to “follow the Fauci,” and having “SCIENCE,” screamed in our faces, the most pathetic amongst us now find themselves alone and abandoned by their saviors. The CDC and Heir Fauci announced in unison that vaccinated people may now resume 2019 life and it broke America…at least the America that’s been running things since March, 2020. Those of us who have been wondering why, from the beginning, we didn’t tell the vulnerable and scared to just stay home while the rest of us kept the country running, have suddenly been given out figurative “get out of jail free card,” and it’s killing the timid, the scared, and

  • Episode 2 - RAD pROBcast - Robstina

    14/05/2021 Duración: 01h04min

Robstina; This week’s deep dive is into the union between my wife Christina and I. How in the world can 2 people, of 2 different races and a 20 year age difference possibly be so alike? And what’s it like to be married to the real-life Rob? We discuss the name of the pROBcast, the things that drive us the most nuts about each other, how we met, the difference between a living room and family room, and why playing cell phone pool with Dawn’s husband has actually led to arguments (and why arguments in relationships are not only healthy, but necessary).See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • Rob's Soapbox - What Is That?!?!

    09/05/2021 Duración: 09min

I woke up early Sunday morning, stumbled downstairs to our bar fridge to grab a sparkling water and reached into an empty bottom shelf…sans bottled water (or anything else for that matter). There were a couple of bottles left when I went to bed, so this was odd; unless you’re married to my wife. After I headed to bed the night before, my wife stayed up, drank the last two bottles, and headed to bed herself, leaving behind an empty refrigerator…knowing that I start my day with an ice-cold bottle of sparkling water. What is that? Making the quandary more of a conundrum is the fact that there was, only by happenstance, an entire case of Perrier just five feet away from the refrigerator, near the front door, having been brought into the home and left to rest there until it could make its’ way to the pantry. So, in other words, Christina could have literally taken two steps, grabbed a bottle or two of water, taken two steps back and plopped them into the fridge, and insured that there was cold water wait
