Sinopsis
I'm a media packrat. My collection of VHS recordings began in the '80s and at once point filled five storage shelves in my home. Over the years, I've transferred these hundreds of tapes onto 2,500+ DVDs. What's on them? That's what we're here to find out. This podcast will track my progress in cataloging these DVDs as we discover together what the heck is on all of them, keeping an eye on my current viewing habits as well. Happy viewing!

Ep. 95: Dead for a Ducat
13/09/2024 Duración: 01h35minHi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 95th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. While this set covers discs 1626 to 1650 in my Classic Collection, my Fuzzy Feature highlights a bit of a deep dive for this effort. From discs 1474 and 1480, I talk about "Hamlet 2" starring Steve Coogan and Catherine Keener. Our regional Capitol Shakespeare troupe presented "Hamlet" this summer, and I include comments from Derek Pich and Schatzy Eichmann, the actors who portrayed Hamlet and Ophelia. The theatrical theme traces as well from a Great Performances 2023 presentation of "Hamlet" I archived from PBS. Plus I'm readying a role in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" for TruNorth Theater, running the weekends of Sept. 20 and Sept. 27, so I'm in a theatrical state of mind. More info available at https://www.trunorththeatre.org/ and https://www.facebook.com/trunorththeatre. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD), covering discs 1626 to 1650,

30/06/2024 Duración: 01h07minHi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 94th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings, and with this installment, titled "Into Every Generation," I celebrate seven years of doing so. Helping to mark the occasion, in my Fuzzy Feature I chatted with longtime friend and friend of the pod Marc Bailey, also known as Grailwolf, to talk about the 1992 release of Joss Whedon's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the FX presentation of which turned up on disc 1604 in my classic collection. We talked about the movie, the TV series it gave rise to, the spinoff of "Angel" and the comic series, as well as other Whedon projects, and farther reaching ramifications of the production. In honor of this film turning up in my cataloging project, I have expanded the mystical center of my media collection to include Joss Whedon productions, in my newly renamed Joss Under Murph Studios Challenge, linking shows in my collection through "Studio 60 on the Sunset S

17/03/2024 Duración: 50minHi! My name is Terry J. Aman marking my 92nd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. My Fuzzy Feature for this installment, titled "Reunion," I talk about the first four entries I found in that 2005 FOX series. I also share Book Reports on new releases "The Fury" by Alex Michaelides and "The Busy Body," the long-anticipated debut murder mystery by "All About Agatha" podcast host Kemper Donovan. Both are fun reads in very different ways and both come highly recommended. Kemper's podcast "All About Agatha" can be found on Apple Podcasts at https://bit.ly/43j4hnB With my Classic Collection, cataloging discs 1551 through 1575, I officially have fewer than 1,000 discs to catalog in my classic collection. 14/03/2024 Duración: 57sHi, I'm Terry J. Aman, host of "VideoFuzzy," my blog and affiliated podcast slowly making my way through my media collection and sharing it with all of you. Changing things up a bit for episode 92, I wanted to step back and celebrate a fellow podcaster, from "All About Agatha," host Kemper Donovan's debut murder mystery "The Busy Body." A longtime student of the form, it's easy to tell the close read he's taken with the works of queen of crime Agatha Christie, combining what inspiration he's found there with modern twists like selfies, influencers and Kickstarter campaigns for a truly uncanny adventure drawing a plucky presidential hopeful and her ghostwriter into a murder investigation. Together with episodes of "Reunion," remembering Johnny Carson and from hulu, "Death and Other Details," I talk about multiweek USA Today bestseller "The Busy Body" as well as mystery novel "The Fury" by Alex Michaelides in this, my latest entry, a mystery-themed episode of "VideoFuzzy," available wherever you get your podcas

Aman and this totally '80s installment marks my 89th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. This installment, titled "Forever Freestyle," celebrates probably the broadest timeline covered by my classic and current collections, featuring material from every decade between 1930 and 2020. My Fuzzy Feature highlights the 1980s miniseries, network series and the 2009 reboot of "V," including a contemporary clip from my "TV is the New Reading" podcast. Ep. 88: Psyched Out
23/06/2023 Duración: 38minHi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 88th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. This installment, titled "Psyched Out," fulfills a promise I made years ago, Oct. 2019, in "Ep. 56: Embrace the Deception." This promise was renewed a couple episodes back when a long-awaited first-season episode of "Psych" turned up in my cataloging. That is, the first half of it appeared. My cataloging for this set turned up the second half of that episode, to wit, "Cloudy With a Chance of Murder." I'd already long since added the eighth-season do-over, titled "Remake: AKA Cloudy With a Chance of Improvement" to my current collection. So when the second half of the original turned up, I was able to pull them both up for a long ago promised compare and contrast. And since this installment also marks six years of VideoFuzzy, I took another road trip to Minot to visit my friend Kirk Nybakken to celebrate, take in both episode

For this installment, titled "Mozzie! The Treasure!" I took a road trip to visit my friend Kirk Nybakken in Minot and we tore into the series premiere of USA Network's original series "White Collar," my Fuzzy Feature for this set. In my Classic Collection, cataloging discs 1426 to 1450, I talk about "FlashForward," "Monk," "Criminal Minds," "Mad Men," "Mercy," "Grey's Anatomy," "Tales from the Darkside," "Nip/Tuck," "Community," "Glee," "The West Wing" and "Battlestar Galactica." Also, with this set I break into a new binder, Binder No. 8, so I take a moment to reminisce about what all turned up in Binder No. 7. For this installment, titled "The Dresden Files," I found the first couple episodes of that SyFy Channel series, and knowing him to be a fan of the book series it was based on, I called longtime friend and friend of the show Marc Bailey, also known as Grailwolf, to share some of his thoughts on the television production. I talk Studio Murphy Under connections with Paul Blackthorne and Valerie Cruz, other cross connections with James Cromwell, Jim Parsons and Xavier Grillo Marxauch, and identify Kathy Najimy as a Golden Thread in my production.
