Have you ever had a conversation with a "story topper"? In Ecclesiastes 2 Solomon definitely comes across as a story topper and he had the proof to back it up. He says, "Anything you’ve tried, I’ve tried. Anything you’ve done, I’ve done it bigger, better, and more often." His whole attitude and paradigm of life is: "Been there, done that and bought the t-shirt." Even though he had tried it all and done it all, he was bored and frustrated in life and desperate to find meaning for his existence.
