Every year, around the world, people bring in the New Year with a rendition of “Auld Lang Syne.” This Scottish song has long been attributed to Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns (1759–1796). Literally, “auld lang syne” means literally “old long since,” or essentially “for old time’s sake.” Burns penned the work in 1788, but it was not printed until after his death in 1796. In 2011, I launched Created Equal with the vision to raise up the next generation of leaders to take on the culture of death and win.  I said, “if, at the end of my life, I do not see a long line of young apologists I have equipped behind me, I will have failed.” We all want to count for something. We want to leave something behind that endures. We want to leave a legacy. As Christians, that legacy should look very different from what the world aspires for. Paul says in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Like an athlete we should be disciplined, strong, running the race like it’s a marathon. It’s not how you start but how you finish that counts. We should be living each day with the finish line in mind. When we reach milestones in our lives, we should take inventory. Last week, in a moment of unique candor that had millions of TV viewers reacting in amazement, FOX Sports announcer Gus Johnson shared the personal history about Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins during the Ohio State vs. Michigan game. “J.K. Dobbins’ mom Mya became pregnant when she was 18 years old,” Johnson said. “She went to the doctor because she was thinking about aborting the baby but changed her mind.” The story went viral. Amy Klobachar wants to “codify Roe.” Sen. Elizabeth Warren called abortion and “human and economic right” and said only “rich people will get abortions if it is banned.” She also beleives the government “should stay out of it.” Sen. The bogus impeachment enquiry has taught us a valuable lesson – in America there are two standards of justice: One standard for the protected elites and one for the rest of us. A whistle-blower is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct. On Monday, despite valiant efforts by UK pro-life groups the British Parliament forced Northern Ireland to remove all limits an abortion. Across the globe democratic nations are decimalizing abortion. In the US, things are a bit different. We still have a fighting chance. Here are some facts: The US abortion rate reached a historic low in 2017. Most pro-lifers would point to the implementation of abortion restrictions, and clinic closures as the reasons. Chemical abortions (done by RU-486, or the abortion pill) make up 39% of the total abortions performed. Of total abortions performed, 88% happen in the first 12 weeks; of that 88%, almost half are done via the abortion pill. The abortion pill, and self-managed abortions are skewing the abortion numbers. This is the battle ahead and I think few are sounding the alarm. Northern Ireland is on the verge of removing all limits to abortion, and some pro-lifers are doing all they can stop that from happening. Ruth Rawlins, Head of Communications for CBR UK, comes on Mark’s show to discuss efforts to censor the anti-abortion message by British MPs, government officials, and billboard advertisers. While displaying abortion victim images, Phil Connor, Antisocial Behaviour Service Delivery Manager, confronted CBR UK activists with a Community Protection Warning accusing the pro-lifers of engaging in “unreasonable behaviour which is persistent” and “having a detrimental effect on the quality of life of others.” The written warning, issued under the Antisocial Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, defined the unreasonable behavior as: “Displaying large images of unborn and/or aborted fetuses which have caused or are likely to cause distress and/or alarm to members of the public.” So, killing babies doesn’t cause distress or alarm but displaying the victims does? Why would Democrats try to impeach President Trump during an election cycle? Most would say Democrats are simply obsessed with Trump and can’t help it. But there is more to the story. The reason Democrats are advancing impeachment of the President now has to do with one issue – Roe v. Wade. Democrats know that they don’t have a candidate that can beat Trump in 2020, and they also know that there will be a vacancy on the SCOTUS next summer. Democrats know Ruth Bader Ginsberg is not long for the SCOTUS. So, they are trying to take down or at least degrade Trump so he cannot fill the vacancy. Since abortion is considered a religious sacrament to them, they cannot not allow Trump to add to his conservative majority on the court. And that is the rest of the story.
