With In the Court of the Crimson King, Director, Toby Amies, crafts one of the most compelling rock documentaries ever about one of music history's most undefinable bands - King Crimson. Writer, director and community activist Zahida Pirani joins FNM to discuss her narrative short film El Carrito, which premieres at the 2022 South By Southwest film festival on March 12. Big news! Friday Night Movie is going to SXSW in Austin, TX. The pod will be featured at the SXSW Wonder House hosted by the University of Arizona, , March 11-13.  We will record full episodes of the show in the official Wonder House podcast studio and bring the signature Friday Night Movie interactive experience to the rooftop where we'll welcome walk-up visitors for interviews so they can sound-off on their favorite films and shows, play the pod’s signature games, and walk away with killer official swag. We are so excited to welcome writer, director, producer, composer Talia Osteen to talk about her feature length directorial debut, Sex Appeal, streaming on Hulu. We talk about how Sex Appeal brings the genre into 2021, subverting teen sex comedy tropes and bringing important topics, such as consent and agency, to the forefront of the story. Talia also takes us behind the scenes on how she directed the epic fantasy sequences in the film and of course we play some Buy, Rent, Meh.
