On this week’s programme John is joined by Martina O’Sullivan and Michael Keating to reflect on the Solemnity of Pentecost.  The Holy Spirit is perhaps the more difficult of the Persons of the Trinity to speak about. We can have some sense of what it means to have a Loving Father and Jesus came to us as God-made-man, but the Holy Spirit is more difficult for us to understand so Scripture gives us images: fire, water, breath etc. and tells us the Holy Spirit will be our Helper, Paraclete etc. The team reflect on the revelation of the Holy Spirit in the Old and New Testaments and talk about the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. They also share their experience of Life in the Spirit seminars.

The Devotion to the Divine MercyJohn and Michael have an interview with Don Devaney who share their thoughts and reflections about Divine Mercy Sunday. Pope John Paul II introduced Divine Mercy Sunday following on the private revelation to the Polish nun St Faustina. Many Catholics gather in churches throughout the world today at 3pm to partake in the Divine Mercy Chaplet, veneration of the image of Divine Mercy, confessions, Mass etc.The Feast of Divine Mercy, celebrated on the Octave of Easter (the Sunday after Easter Sunday), is a relatively new addition to the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar. Luke 19:28-40) where the people cried out 'Hosanna' to Jesus. We do the same at every Mass. We use the same prayer of praise and intercession during the 'Holy, holy' prayer at Mass. Geraldine reminds us that when we call on Jesus,
