Philly Sports Four For 4 Podcast

***NOTE...THIS WAS RECORDED BEFORE THAT DISASTER OF LOSS IN GAME 4!!!!**** With the Sixers being shocked in Game 1 (losing AT HOME 128-124), they have seemingly righted the ship, winning their next two games.  The Sixers have defensively dominated the last 9 quarters and have taken a 2-1 series lead against the Atalanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.  However, with the Sixers hitting their stride, there is one thing I've realized.... THIS IS GOING TO BE HARDER THAN I THOUGHT (lol)!!! This doesn't deter my belief in the Sixers, nor does it change how I feel the series will play out.  However, this made me realize that the Hawks are a pretty good team.  They will not stay down.  Hence the reason I believe the Sixers have to win Game 4 in Atlanta.  If you want to take the soul from this team, sweep them on their home court and let Game 5 at home take care of itself.   During this episode, I also talk about the other NBA Playoff Matchups that are currently going

Sixers in 5!!!!!!! ***DISCLAIMER...This is not about ALL fans, but I'm afraid this is for the majority of this fanbase*** Outside of a year in college and a year post college, I've lived in this area ALL of my life!!!  I've always felt Philly fans were some of the most knowledgable, passionate, and crazy sports fans that I've ever encountered.  However, it seems like ever since the Eagles won Super Bowl LII, the fans have gone to a new level of INSANITY!!!!  I no longer feel that this is a wise sports fanbase, but rather an impatient, crazed, delusional, and irrational fanbase that is quick to react and slow to think.   Granted, this fanbase has always been reactionary, but they have always been warranted.   The Sixers are in first place, but there's always a complaint about the team (particularly Ben Simmons) The Eagles have a brand new coaching staff, but the coach had a bad presser and fans seem to think he doesn't know football.  Additionally, fans expected him to have all of the answers about this team on day one. Well, the Eagles finally hire their guy....Nick Sirianni (former HC of the Colts). I can’t say that I’m happy about it. In a stellar turn of events, the Eagles and Doug Pederson decide to part ways.  A lot could be said about this season and there are lots of things to fix, but all of this isn't on Doug.  Unfortunately, he was the one that took the fall.  Howie Roseman remains the General Manager and President of Football Ops and there is still a big question mark around the future of Carson Wentz. ***Note, My Son made a guest appearance on this episode....pardon the interruptions lol.*** With missed opportunities, mistakes, penalties, and horrible defense (Jalen Mills and Nate Gerry), Your Philadelphia Eagles fall to the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-29.  While the offense wasn't perfect, they played well enough to stay in (and possibly win) the game.  With that loss, the Eagles fall to 1-3-1 (0.5 games out of the NFC LEast lead).  The loss has us asking who is to blame, can this team turn it around, and who is really in charge of this organization.  Take a listen as I give my take on the game and look forward to the Eagles' game vs. the Ravens on Sunday. After four weeks, the Eagles FINALLY have their first win of the season, beating the 49ers 25-20.  While missing 8 of the 11 offensive starters, Carson Wentz and the Eagles found a way to get the job done and come out of the Bay Area with a win!!!!   Additionally, the Sixers make a great decision and hire Glenn "Doc" Rivers as their next HC.  Doc has been given the task of "unlocking" the talents that are Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons and helping them reach their full potential.     Oh yeah.....Matt Klentak stepped down as the GM of the Phillies.  Bad news is that they don't have a good replacement in mind.....***HEAVY SIGH***

With their backs (semi) against the wall, the Philadelphia Eagles fall to 0-2 with a loss to the LA Rams at the Linc.  Although Lane Johnson and Miles Sanders returned today, the Eagles couldn't get out of their own way.   Keys to the Loss -THREE turnovers (2 ints by Carson, Fumble by Sanders) -Unstoppable Rams Offense (RBs, Kupp, Woods) -No takeaways by the defense -Carson Wentz trying to be a hero Not much to say after the loss except that the Eagles need a win ASAP.  This day was not a good day in Philly Sports. Episode 54 of the Philly Sports Four for 4 Podcast....."I TOLD YOU"!!!!   The Philadelphia Eagles lost their season opener to the Washington Football Team (yes you read that correctly) by a score of 27-17.  The Eagles led the game 17-0 in the 2nd quarter and then proceeded to collapse.    Despite some good from the Eagles, they played an overall bad game.  They were mostly even on  the team stats, but there were a few keys things that led to this loss.     Key Points to Consider:  -EIGHT sacks against Carson Wentz  -THREE turnovers (compared to ZERO takeaways by the Eagles Defense)  -Difficulty running the football (were out rushed 80 yds to 59 yds with most of the yardage coming on one drive in the 3rd quarter)  -Injuries (mainly to the offensive line)   BUT, the main reason for this loss was because of the erratic play of Carson Wentz and the lack of adjustments by Doug Pederson.  Carson Started the game 14/17 for 185 yds and 2 TDs and ended the game 10/25 for 85 yds and 2 ints.  The Eagles need better pla
