Machines have already surpassed human intelligence in specific domains such as chess, but we still have the upper hand in terms of general knowledge. In the future, humankind will have to face ethical dilemmas and other challenges regarding our non-hominid friends. The most burning question of all: What happens when we create a non-organic mind rivalling or even surpassing ours?

In recent years many professions have been praised and applauded by society while some others are barely acknowledged or even mocked. Today we look into one particular industry in an attempt to realize its importance and recognize the problems and/or hurdles faced by the professionals.

A seemingly contradictory phrase simultaneously announcing the death of one phone in a while assuring its continuity in a society that mandates a new phone. We explore the rise and rise of the phone as a euphemistic rhetoric for societal governance in general including monarchy in particular.

Volunteering is becoming an increasingly important part of a CV. Have you been volunteering abroad or, ironically, wondering about how to 'afford' to be a volunteer? In the second hour, we move to a similar topic - rest and relaxation. Taking breaking and slowing down is sometimes highly needed when dealing with (academic) stress. Together we’ll navigate through different ways of taking a break, how it improves (academic) performance and how do we know if we rest enough. Check out this episode and find out how to make space for rest and well-being in your (student) daily life!

Some months ago, we talked about how covid pandemic affected student mental health. Going back to normal brings joy and adds a different perspective on student life, especially for newbies. But the “new normal” comes with challenges and struggles too, that have an impact on well-being. How do you define well-being? Why is well-being important? How do we achieve it? In the first hour, we go through all these question together with our guest from @wellbeing_movement_um. This topic is particularly important to talk about these days, now that students are back on campus and might be overwhelmed by the amount of activities happening in person.
