Perhaps giving a unique Christmas sermon perspective, Bro. Harry Collins, Jr. delivered “The Beginning of the Gospel on Sunday morning of Camp Meeting 1992.  Reading in part from Mark 1, Luke 24, and Acts 1, he explains that Jesus was born that we could be baptized with the Holy Ghost in our hearts and lives.  The Spiritual Kingdom of God is within the heart of a sanctified man or woman when the old man is crucified and Jesus is resurrected in our heart. “Jesus is the reason for the season” -  These hymns focus on the salvation we celebrate and include “The Light of the World is Jesus”, “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem”, multiple renditions of “Joy to the World”, “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “O Holy Night”,  “Wonderful Story of Love” and many others.  There may be an Easter hint in several hymns.  May the Spirit bless you in these hymns during the Christmas season. You will also hear some common sense exhortation to our folks about altar service, which remains appropriate these many years later. Janet describes “A Proper Sacrifice” in service to God.  Drawing from Genesis 22, 1Kings 18, and multiple other scriptures she demonstrates the requirements of a righteous sacrifice and the cost of an offering that God will accept.  While easy to understand, this sermon is sure to provoke soul searching in both the believing saint and aspiring lost.  Please make a few minutes for this timeless sermon. Leon Stewart Sr. declares God’s requirement for sincerity and truth and that “Babylon is Fallen”.  Linking the Old and New Testament, Uncle Leon weaves a 3-fold cord of the historic city of Babylon, the death of Christ, and the modern day spiritual Babylon. Daniel 5 was the central passage as Bro. Harry Collins III delivered “Our Bodily Vessel for God’s Glory”.  He opens reading about Belshazzar summoning the sacred vessels from the temple of God and the nearly immediate judgement.  Bro. Harry continues into the New Testament explaining God’s charge to be a sanctified vessel in His service. Bro. David Cosby

After a sermon from Aunt Jean Riggs, Bro. Willie gets out and expounds on living in the New Jerusalem. This message was so memorable to those that heard it that it was referenced for decades afterward. I have heard much about this sermon myself but only recently had the privilege to hear the actual audio of it. Please take time to enjoy this brief classic. Bro. Jeff Price

During the Saturday night meeting at the Greensboro Feast Meeting in 2018, Bro. Don stepped out and shared some thoughts on a passage of scripture from Revelation 5.  In under 5 minutes, he succinctly links this verse with other passages to provide the interpretation. In Camp Meeting 1957, Bro. Harry Collins, Jr., delivered “The Sacrifices of God”.  Bro. Harry preaches from Isaiah 1 and Psalms 51 about the kind of sacrifice that God accepts in the New Testament dispensation.  In spite of the late start of the recording, this sermon is well worth our attention. On the last Saturday morning of Camp Meeting 2018, Bro. Kenneth reminded us that God is faithful all the time and in every situation. Like Joseph from the Bible was in the dungeon, we may find ourselves in dire situations, but God only requires our faithfulness to provide all that we need. Depending on our Savior, Bro. Horace highlights the high calling and privilege to have the Spirit of the Lord in our heart and miss a sinner’s reward.  No matter what we achieve in this life, calamity awaits every sinner who rejects the glory of forgiveness and sanctification in Father’s house; there is no halfway between.  Applying the parable of the prodigal son, this message challenges sinners and saints to urgency, as we clear our hearts and minds for camp meeting 2019.  Bro. Bro. Steve illuminates how we cherish the Spirit and Power of God we experience in camp meeting!  He then challenges us with “what does the Lord require of me?” and “how is it with my soul?”  The City of Babylon was at its peak when the fingers of a man’s hand wrote “Thou are Weighed in the Balances” to Belshazzar.  It was too late for Belshazzar, but sinners and saints today have the opportunity to search and humble our hearts to serve the Lord God, who still rules in the kingdoms of men. We are trusting in a great captain - Jesus Christ is piloting our ship, and He will take us safely home. Many notable men and women through history have sailed their own ships, only to come to ruin, but the old Ship of Zion has landed thousands over and she will land a million more. "We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren...." 1 John 3:14 When do we experience "passed from death unto life?" When does "this mortal put on immortality?"  Bro Harry Collins, Jr tackles these questions through the words of Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and the Apostle John. Bottom line: we need to make certain we are holy today if we want to make it to the city of God. The words "lively" and "spirit-filled" seem inadequate to describing the powerful rush of the Holy Spirit felt in this sermon, preached over 50 years ago in the 1956 Camp Meeting. Bro. Harry Collins kept himself to the Chincoteague standard with this sermon clocking in at 15 minutes, 32 seconds. I pray that God will bless, encourage, and provoke you with this sermon.
