Welcome to this International women’s day special in which I highlight and celebrate some of the wonderful things women in music have worked on or taken part in this year, with two of my favourite girls - Lydia Laws, founder of Lydia Lwas PR and Roberta Hickey, founder of the women in dance music platform, Little Pink Book. I was so curious to know how Julian ended up creating a festival on the island, what it has brought to the area, and how it has helped grow the local music scene as well as challenges they’ve come across such as hurricane Irma in 2017 and then obviously a global pandemic a few years later.
