Hurst Lecture Series: US Senator Mitch McConnell, senior Republican from Kentucky, in conversation with Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson. I shared this for a few reasons. Initially I listened to find out how the republican mind thinks, and a reasonable conversation is a great way to get that information. Then as I listened I realized that this Mitch is not todays Mitch. This Mitch is pre-Trump. Touting bipartisan accomplishments, and speaking conservatively but in a manor that really showed he was proud of the way in which the Senate was being run under him.It left me with the question. Where did Mitch and the other Republicans go? I understand that republicans saw Obama as running ruff shot over the process, pushing things through, and as well see that Mitch sees trump as payback for Obama.
