Michelle Obama’s full speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention Michelle Obama has delivered an impassionned speech to the Democratic National Convention, looking back on her husband's time in office and calling upon members to trust the "steady and measured" Hillary Clinton as she bids to become US president. The current First Lady told the convention she believed Barack Obama had served his country with "decency and grace", before praising Mrs Clinton for her "relentless work" and unwillingness to "buckle under pressure". In a thinly-veiled jab at Republican candidate Donald Trump's famous campaign slogan, she said: "Don't let anyone tell you that this country isn't great.
