Two books into this whole Stephen King Retrospective (though it is in fact the third book) and we might have hit the plateau. The Shining has an interesting set of distinctions in the author's bibliography. It remains one of the author's most popular books among readers. Yet, the original film adaptation has sparked more debate than anything that has ever been adapted.
