Julia R. Anderson: Live at The Bearded Lady, West End, 10th May 2019 Born in the southern deserts of Israel, Julia R. Anderson's family moved to Australia when she was a toddler, settling in Bundaberg. As a teenager she began experimenting with sampling and songwriting, picking up the guitar during a return stay in Israel. Ultimately moving to Brisbane to study music, Anderson has since established herself as a prolific performer and a consistently inventive force within the local music community. This set is quite unusual, even by Anderson's adventurous musical standards. In mid-2019, she scored a support slot at the Brisbane stop on Laura Imbruglia's east coast album tour. Because regular drummer Andrew van der Horst was in Japan at the time, Anderson performed a special drumless trio show with Imogen Kowalczyk on bass and Reece Dargie on guitar.
