Requin: Requin are a three piece band from Brisbane that are playing an incredibly intricate math rock blend. Their harmonies will lull you perhaps into a false sense of security, but often bring you to a wholesome feeling of beauty amongst brutal time changes which always keep you guessing. They are comprised of Fionn Richards, Keeley Young and James Eyre Walker on a variety of instruments from keys, saxophone, bass pedals, guitars and drums. They released two singles, ‘Return to Sender’ in 2017 and ‘Blood, Sweat and Bees’ in 2018, all leading up towards an EP released in October of 2018 called ‘The Noisy Miners Swoop Him’. It was a 5 track beautiful recording which highlighted the complexities of their music and their direction which truly sounds unique. On stage they consistently blow people away and you can physically see the buzz around them grow as the crowds get bigger, as do the venues.
