Ultra Material: In 2012, Ultra Material was born from two couples who had shared stages with their respective husband-wife Brisbane bands, Matt & Sarah Deasy from ‘Do The Robot’ and Nick Skepper & Zuzana Kovar from "Sunshine State." The two duos combined their instruments and started to make their own blend of dreamgaze with swirling key lines, effected guitar delays and soaring vocals backed by breakbeat-esque rhythms. In the last year, they’ve released a self-titled EP cassette and their debut album ‘Double Date’ on Sydney’s Blackwire Records label, which has had tastemakers salivating for more.
