Shovels In late 2013, Michael Beach, Adam Camilleri and Peter Warden formed Shovels. It’s a befitting name to accompany the songs that led to their self-titled debut, which received a limited run of 100 copies. One of those tapes made its way to Homeless head honcho Richie Ramone who didn’t waste anytime in releasing the album only a few months later. The album is a hot ride of searing guitar lines that I’m not sure whether to call blues or psych, paired with thundering bass and vicious wild drums. It sounds a bit like what would have happened if feedtime smoked more pot. Recorded by Matt Hall. Mixed by Josh Watson.
