Primitive Motion: Leighton and Sandra began performing as a duo a short while after the demise of The Deadnotes, a group that they played in with Eugene Carchesio and Stuart Busby. Focused around Casio keyboards, delayed vocals and loop stations, the music of Primitive Motion is a sort of experimental pop sound with a strong focus on melody and texture. A combination of their more artistic backgrounds and a DIY pop sensibility. Leighton runs Kindling records and Sandra is an accomplished visual artist, having had a few works displayed at GoMA.
