Locked On Red Sox

The Red Sox celebrated our Nation's Birthday on Thursday afternoon by completing a series sweep over the Marlins in Miami.  Sox improved to 8 games over .500 for the first time this season with a 6-5, 12-inning victory in the finale.  Neither team scored in the 10th. Sox got two in the top of the 11th and the Marlins did the same in the bottom of the 11th. Sox got 2 in the top of the 12th.  Marlins got just 1 in the home 11th.  David Hamilton scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 12th on a ground out and Tyler O'Neil got a much-needed insurance run with an RBI Double.  O'Neil had 3 hits in the Sox victory.  Marlins Jesus Sanchez broke up Nick Pivetta's no-hit bid with a 2-out triple in the 7th.  He had a lead-off double against Kenley Jansen in the 9th inning, but he was cut down at the plate by Jarren Duran on a single to centerfield.  Sanchez then tied the game at 4-4 with a 2-Run Home Run off Zack Kelly in the 11th.  The Marlins entered the series with 16 home wins, and they had walked off in 8 of thos
