Sinopsis
The Red Sox (83-69) walked off with a 5-4, 10-Inning win over the Athletics in front of a sellout crowd of 36,404 at Fenway Park Wednesday night. Nate Eaton scored the winning run on a groundball off the bat of pinch-hitter Nick Sogard. The throw to the plate from 2nd-baseman Zack Gelof arrived late with Eaton scoring on the head-first slide. The Sox even up the series at 1-1 and are now 2-3 on their current 6-game homestand. With the loss, the Athletics 5-game win streak came to an end. ----Going with Gio: Lucas Giolito made the mound start for the Red Sox Wednesday night. Giolito did not make it out of the 5th Inning, and he exited with the bases loaded. Justin Wilson entered with the 3 runners on base and all 3 inherited runners eventually scored. Giolito was charged with 4 earned runs on 5 hits. He walked 5 and struck out 5. He was taken off the loss for the loss after the Sox came back and tied the game up at 4-4 in the 6th Inning. -----Sox at the Dish: The Red Sox got on the board in the 1st Inni
