A major drive is underway to recruit Shanon's next generation of Air Traffic Controllers. AirNav Ireland which monitors 451,000 square km of Ireland's sovereign air space is currently seeking new participants for its 18-month apprenticeship programme. The organisation currently has vacancies in Shannon, Ballycasey and Ballygireen in Clare, as well as in Cork. Shannon Air Traffic Controller Con Hayes says it's a golden opportunity.
