The Red Sox (89-73) came from behind and beat the Yankees, 3-1, in Game 1 of the Best 2 out of 3 American League Wild Card series Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Aroldis Chapman loaded the bases on 3 straight singles with nobody out in the 9th but retired the next 3 hitters with 2 strikeouts including fanning Trent Grisham to end the game. The Sox are 1 win away from advancing to the American League Division Series. ----- Crochet Day: Garrett Crochet made his 1st career postseason start (5th career playoff appearance) in Game 1 vs. the Yankees Tuesday night and he was terrific. Crochet gave up 2 Singles in the 1st Inning but struck out Cody Bellinger and got Giancarlo Stanton to hit into an inning-ending, Double Play. After Anthony Volpe hit a 2-out, solo Home Run in the 2nd Inning, Crochet retired the next 17 Hitters before he allowed a 1-out Single to Volpe in the 8th.
