Sinopsis
Antibiotics don’t always go away after we take them. We excrete them from our bodies, and they can accumulate in septic sludge, where potential pathogens can gain resistance to them. Genevieve Schutzius, a masters student in the College of Engineering, discusses her research isolating antibiotic resistant strains of E. coli from septic sludge, and her experiences abroad in Vietnam where she collected the samples.
