I am joined by Andy Neilson to chat about the buyer’s journey - quite literally. Andy has been involved in procurement for much of his career - from the world of the potteries working with brands such as Royal Worcester, Denby and Spode to Halfords, Fitness First, and he held a global position at Clarks as Group Head/Vice President of Procurement Supply Chain & Logistics. There isn’t much Andy doesn’t know about procurement. So the sales woman meets the buyer! But this wasn’t a showdown and the normal battle we have been used to all of these years. This was a human conversation about how buyer’s can actually teach sales people a huge amount about building relationships. You can imagine that I loved it! Andy now runs his own business working as a consultant to show businesses not only all of the amazing knowledge he has in procurement, but working with sales people to create cost savings through collaboration whilst building long term relationships.
