Stoehr's appointment as coach was announced in an email Thursday morning by Westerly athletic director Jamey Vetelino. He replaces Duane Maranda, who left the team to join Prout. Maranda and a few great asst, coaches, coached Westerly for four years, and the Bulldogs qualified for the postseason in all four of his seasons, but couldn’t win a tittle. Stoehr, who has lived in Westerly for more than 30 years, brings an extensive football resume with him.
