Of course, you’re not responsible for the terrible things that happened to you, but ultimately, you are responsible for your own healing. At some point, you have to be an active participant in your life to create a life that you’re proud of. So this led her to talk about how we aren’t immune to bad stuff happening in our lives, no matter who we are, no matter what our status, we all experience some serious hardships. But even within those hardships, there are ways in which you too can persevere through some of the darkest in moments. By doing so you build your character and your resiliency.
