This is a branded Food About Town podcast produced by Chris Lindstrom and recorded at the Food About Town Studio. This is the very first episode of the new https://blackbuttondistilling.com/ (Black Button Distilling) Podcast! Owner Jason Barrett and Brand Ambassador Luc Thiers are the driving force behind this podcast and I will be serving as the host and moderator of the discussion. In this episode, we discussed gin! We spent some time going through the history of gin including its Dutch roots as genever and some interesting facts about how it became popular in Britain. Black Button’s Barrel Aged Gin was the spirit we focused on including a cocktail that Luc mixed up for us. He made a twist on an Old Fashioned with the Barrel Aged Gin as the base spirit instead of a whiskey. It was lighter in profile but with enough aged characteristic where you knew it was there.
