NO JAB? NO JOB.New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced he was imposing a vaccine mandate for private companies, just three weeks before he leaves office on December 31. This affects everyone from construction workers, to the cashier at Walgreens, to the investment banker at Goldman Sachs. No jab, no job.The details: NYC is the first place in the nation to impose a mandate like this. It goes into effect on December 27, with no testing option, and affects over 184,000 private businesses. It also mandates two vaccine doses, so if you have the one-dose J&J vaccine, it appears you need a booster.Mandating kids: De Blasio will also force children over 5 years old to be vaccinated in order to enter private businesses like restaurants and entertainment facilities.
