S4E44 Winner Stays On
08/06/2015 Duración: 01h15minIt's June, and yet here we are still recording up to date and relevant Scottish Football podcasts! This week, Krys is host as regular John is joined by guest Andy to discuss the finer points of football in the Highlands and the Juniors. Andy gives us his insight into the varied fortunes of the northern teams from Caley Thistle and Ross County through to Brora Rangers and Formartine United. We then take a look back at Auchinleck Talbot's record eleventh Scottish Junior Cup win over Musselburgh, and another discussion about the merits of the various Junior leagues across the country. Meanwhile, Krys tries to fake knowing anything about the Juniors by way of Wikipedia. Speaking of country, Scotland have a vital European qualifier coming up next weekend, so we take a look back at what we might have learned from the friendly against Qatar and try to answer the important questions like "where does a streaker hide his wee dram?" No charity bets left this season, but thanks to McBookie for their generosity over the c

S4E43 Greig's Swansong
01/06/2015 Duración: 01h12minThe Premiership play offs concluded with games on Thursday and Sunday. Chance would have it that Greig makes an appearance on the podcast after having a few nights off. What a coincidence. Craig and Krys listen in as he gloats/discusses the game from a Motherwell fans point of view. It’s lucky that unbiased Rangers fan Craig is on hand to counter. Football is of course covered, but unfortunately there were non footballing events that stole the headlines. It was the final of the big cup on Saturday, with both Craig and Krys present at Hampden as neutrals. Inverness won the cup for the first time in their short history. Pies, binoculars, pints and smoke bombs feature. It’s Greig’s final podcast, so tell all your friends from Arbroath that it’s safe to listen again. The final total of the charity bet is announced, along with the recipient of the money. £425 will be going to a very worthy cause – http://www.edinburghsickkids.org/. Thank you very much to McBookie for providing us with the charity bets each week. T

S4E42 Play Offs and Cup Final Review
25/05/2015 Duración: 43minAs has been mentioned on the podcast before, we are officially in the business end of the season. When the going gets tough, the tough get up and leave, and that means Greig and Krys. Greig is off helping Ian Baraclough with his homework prior to the play off final, and Krys is dropped for his recent lack of stats. Hopefully both will return next week. That means it’s John and Craig to talk you through the last week of Scottish fitba and to look ahead to the upcoming games. Tennent’s and Brahma are on the menu. If you ever need anyone to hype up a product, or event, John is your man. The way he bigs up the upcoming podcast is priceless. Rangers squeezed past Hibs in the Premiership play off semi final. The first leg was 2-0 at Ibrox, which was enjoyable for Craig, apart from the bizarre road closures that followed. The second leg may have been a good watch, but Craig has no idea due to watching a pop concert, followed by a little Snoop Dogg. It was this point that John disappeared from the podcast temporarily

S4E41 Coiny and a Wee Bit of Fitba
18/05/2015 Duración: 01h13minIt’s me (Craig), John and Krys once again this week. Scotland’s squad for the double header against the footballing powerhouse Qatar and also Ireland has been announced. We discuss who deserved it and who didn’t. The lower three play offs came to a conclusion, in what might be described as boring. We discuss why that might be the case. The Premiership play off first round, or quarter final, or whatever it’s called concluded on Sunday. Unfortunately there was no pie review, but that doesn’t mean that the discussion was completely pointless. Second bottom in the Premiership was decided at the weekend, with the bottom half providing the bulk of the football entertainment in the Premiership. There was also an elbow and a headbutt that was worth discussing. Coiny came up in conversation and perhaps I mistakenly thought that everybody knew what it was. I am in my early 30s and it was certainly a thing when I was at primary school. A quick Google suggests that it might just have been me that called it coiny. We fini

11/05/2015 Duración: 01h01minIt’s me (Craig), John and Krys once again this week. Scotland’s squad for the double header against the footballing powerhouse Qatar and also Ireland has been announced. S4E39 2-0 and Zeefuiked it Up
04/05/2015 Duración: 01h13minI am back on the podcast and also back on editing duties. Technical issues have been resolved and my new puppy has settled into his new home. Alfie joins us for the first few minutes, but quickly falls asleep due to the boring chat about Scottish football. McBookie have kindly allowed us to continue the first scorer charity bet into the playoffs, so after the disappointment of another winless weekend, we have a little positivity that may or may not bring us luck. We discuss the highlights from the top tier, including a contender for goal of the season (or was it just a shot that the keeper didn’t want to save?), manhandling referees in a way that only Bougherra is allowed to do, amongst other talking points. Outside the top tier, many of the promotion and relegation places were secured, with the play off places being secured to eventually decide the remainder of the ups and downs. Further to that discussion, congratulations to the respective winners of the four tiers. Should Yogi have won manager of the year,

S4E38 Puppies, Pyramids, Playoffs and POTYs
27/04/2015 Duración: 01h02minKrys hosts once again as Craig takes a week out to play with a puppy. If only those running the game would do the same, Scottish football would be in a much better state. Krys is joined by Greig and John, and among other things they discuss the possible/probable plight of Motherwell in the Premiership playoff, who Queen of the South will face in the first round of that same playoff, the exciting upcoming finale to the extremely tight League One title race, and the remaining playoff spots for the Championship and League One playoffs. Yes, that's how they're named despite being three quarters made up from the division below. The Pyramid playoff gets a mention as well just to cap everything off, and of course the ongoing title race in the Premiership gets a mention too, before discussing the likelihood of another title race next season. Finally there's a look at the still ridiculously early Player of the Year awards, before we try to pick another charity bet winner - which takes a while due to temptation. Thank

S4E37 Put Your Hands Up for Inverness
21/04/2015 Duración: 01h17minIt’s been a busy week in Scottish football, on and off the pitch. On this week’s podcast, John, Krys and I discuss: Post split fixture delays Championship final fixture mismatch Falkirk’s win over Hibs in the Scottish Cup semi final Inverness’ win over Celtic after extra time in the other semi final. Including that handball Video refereering and whether it would have helped in the “handball” situation The play offs McBookie charity bet Both Premiership games over the last week Premiership predictions And finally, the first scorer bet Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. S4E36 Craig for Compliance Officer
14/04/2015 Duración: 01h14minGame of Thrones was back this week, so Craig, Krys and John all decided to wait until Tuesday this week to talk about a busy week in Scottish Football. Okay, Craig and Krys watched Game of Thrones, John had work commitments. Midweek Premiership fixtures including a Dundee derby, weekend Premiership fixtures including Aberdeen getting a helping hand from the referee in a game they dominated anyway, key games in both the Premiership and the Championship as far as the playoffs are concerned... all of that pales into insignificance when Craig drops a bombshell at the end of the podcast. Craig for Compliance Officer, or Craig for new Top Gear host? Finally, there's the usual predictions and attempts to win money for charity. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. sffpodcast On Twitterhttp://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

S4E34 Sent Him Homework to Think Again
30/03/2015 Duración: 01h10minWe have a special guest this week as Andy joins me, Krys and John. He writes for the Press & Journal and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of Scottish football, as well as bringing his educated view on the Highland & Lowland League play offs. We discuss Scotland’s double header against Northern Ireland and Gibraltar and how the qualifying campaign looks now. Laurie fluked the charity bet last week with his punt on Osman Sow. We try to repeat that by opting to go for a new face – Bryan Prunty. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. SFFPodcast On Twitter http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

S4E33 Hearts, Hearts, Glorious Hearts
24/03/2015 Duración: 01h09minLaurie returns to the podcast to join me and Krys. Greig is missing, which is unusual timing considering his side got their arguably their biggest win of the season. I suppose it’s only Hamilton. John has homework due for tomorrow. Hearts sealed the Championship title at the weekend, so it’s perfect timing to get Laurie on to discuss his team. Away from the fame of featuring on the SFF podcast, Laurie has been quietly working away at Hearts. Talk turns to his on air work, and specifically pronunciation of footballer’s names. A pie upgrade and karma are what I have to report from recent games at Ibrox. Celtic vs Dundee United (again), Hibs vs Rangers, Dundee vs Aberdeen are discussed, along with the other Premiership games of the weekend. Scotland have a double header coming up. We cover the ties in depth (ie we say they are happening). The charity bet is a four fold this week, with Osman Sow our first scorer pick. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. S4E32 Celtic Diddy Cup Winners
17/03/2015 Duración: 56minKrys gets another shot of hosting so he can bask in the glory of his team's triumph in capturing the first domestic honours of the season. But being the humble kind, he immediately hands over to this week's guests John and Greig so they can talk about their teams' Friday night battle in the Premiership. Talk then progresses to the other Premiership games and arguably the worst charity bet attempt yet, before taking a look at the Championship to see if Hearts have won it yet and how the run for the playoffs is shaping up for the other teams miles behind them. Finally they get back to talk about the events at Hampden before focusing on the next important game at Hampden - Scotland's attempted thumping of Gibraltar (with a side order of a Northern Irish friendly) - as Gordon Strachan's latest squad choices are up for scrutiny. Finally, there's the usual predictions before Greig begs us not to put the charity bet on Motherwell. Did we? Listen and find out! Or just look at Twitter, it's already there. But be sure

S4E31 Mistaken Identity
10/03/2015 Duración: 53minIt’s me, Greig and Krys again this week, because John is in jail. Rangers EGM and our brief opinion on King. Sticking with Rangers, we touch on whether an old or new manager is likely anytime soon. Camshy suggested on the forum (http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/topic/20179-podcast-topics/) that we discuss top scorers. Celtic vs St Johnstone, Motherwell vs Killie and Ross county vs Partick Thistle are the Premiership games that we discuss. With Krys and Greig both going to the first two. The Premiership was quiet due to the Scottish Cup quarter finals. The live game on cooncil telly wasn’t really up to much, apart from the headed goal from Sibbald. Hibs vs Berwick Rangers wasn’t the contest it may have been and I even give Cummings some praise. Dundee United vs Celtic was the big talking point of the weekend, largely due to red cards and the lack of red cards. Derek Riordan’s headed equaliser is applauded, and rightly so. The charity bet is McMenamin of Stenhousemuir for first scorer, and Ross County

S4E30 The Podcast of Winners
03/03/2015 Duración: 54minGreig, Krys and I are on the podcast this week, while John robs a bank. Inter vs Celtic, Celtic vs Aberdeen, Motherwell’s first win in yonks and Hearts hammering of Cowdenbeath are among the games discussed from the last week in Scottish football. The McBookie charity treble this week is Stranraer, Queen’s Park and Arbroath. £10 returns £52.34. Jamie Longworth is our charity first scorer bet. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. The podcast is available via RSS, iTunes, or you can listen using the widget below. S4E29 Sing Song Ding Dong
24/02/2015 Duración: 59minJohn, Krys and I are on this week, with Greig sitting out due to giving up with football. The main items discussed are: Dodgy singing at football Celtic in Europe Raith Rovers vs Rangers Premiership reviews Premiership preview an important game on Sunday McBookie charity bet Declan McManus of Morton is our first scorer charity bet. Inverness, Queen’s Park and Airdrieonians are the treble pick. £10 on the treble returns £50 exactly at the moment. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. S4E28 Welcome to Hell
17/02/2015 Duración: 01h07minI start the podcast with a little positivity, despite Rangers being beaten 2-0 by Hibs. John goes on to be positive about a positive result (from Aberdeen), which is not the SFF podcast theme this week. Greig proves he is the romantic in the team. Despite me being all for welcoming foreign football teams to our country and perhaps allowing them use of training facilities ;), John has a different tact. Alcohol at football is a hot topic once again, and we all seem generally in favour, but realise the potential pitfalls. Greig’s main concern is that they might sell Carling at Fir Park. It wasn’t easy, but we persuaded Greig that Celtic -4 wasn’t a good idea for the McBookie charity bet. Instead we went for Brechin, Dundee United and Motherwell/Dundee BTTS, which returns £60.50 for a tenner. We stick with Jamie Longworth as he delivered this past weekend. And Celtic have a European game on Thursday against Internatio, Internazio, Inter Milan. Did I mention that it was on the telly? Thank you to McBookie for dona

S4E27 Scottish Cup and Proving Intent
10/02/2015 Duración: 53minIt was Scottish Cup weekend for 16 Scottish clubs this past weekend, with 3 of the games on the telly. John and Krys join me to discuss the games. Amongst other things, we discuss proving intent when it comes to malicious offences like stamping on an opponent. It’s an interesting topic to some, but not to Jonathan Sutherland who thinks we should just use our eyes. In addition we have some good news for the charity bet. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but there might have been a very large addition to the prize pot. This weekend’s @McBookie charity bet is a double on Dundee Utd and Inverness. £10 on that returns £40.43 at the time of recording. Jamie Longworth is our choice for first scorer since he has to make up for letting us down the last time. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. S4E26 Greig's in Talks with a Rival Podcast
03/02/2015 Duración: 01h03minIt’s transfer deadline day and Greig is missing, presumably in talks with another podcast. 1-1 draws, transfers, semi finals, naughty songs, crap pitches, bawbags, cola, Prem predictions and of course the charity bet, all feature. Declan McManus is our pick for the first scorer charity bet this weekend. We have also went for a treble of Aberdeen, Hearts and Morton. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. The podcast is available via RSS or iTunes. SFFPodcast On Twitter http://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

S4E25 Craig's in a Spin
26/01/2015 Duración: 58minCraig skips the podcast in favour of attending a spin class (no, really) so Krys takes up hosting duties once more to discuss two rounds of matches in the SPFL Premiership with John and Greig. There's also yet more charity bet woes, a look at the lack of action so far in the transfer window, a preview of the big Scottish League Cup semi final - as well as a mention of Celtic playing Rangers in the other one - some more Premiership predictions and yet another attempt at winning some money for charity. And speaking of charity, we end with a discussion on the success of the Fernando Ricksen benefit match. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake. sffpodcast On Twitterhttp://forums.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/
