John returns for his first podcast of the year, alongside Greig and I. Krys takes the night off to watch the football. We discuss the three Premiership games of the weekend, as well as a little of the Hamilton vs Dundee United game. With Christmas around the corner, we decide to have a Christmas themed podcast, featuring all four of the podcast regulars – me (Craig), Greig, John and Krys. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that we recite the full Nativity, it simply means that we all have a drink. Well, technically I didn’t drink any alcohol, but I did discuss my love of Tennent’s (hint, hint for a freebie case of Tennent’s if anyone at the Wellpark Brewery is reading/listening to this). We start off with what is a bit of a regular occurrence – a negative review of how the McBookie charity bet went. Motherwell held up their end of the bargain, but Partick Thistle let us down. To be specific, it was the own goal by Balatoni that let us, and charity, down. We didn’t do too well in the charity bet either, despite Krys almost picking the correct Arbroath player. Alloa knocked Rangers out of the Potty Training Cup, and with fans of the finalists getting free pies it's all too much for Craig to take. Greig gives us his reaction to Stuart McCall’s resignation from Motherwell and who might replace him. I tip off a journalist about a couple of contenders. Following the quarter final ties, the League Cup semi final draw was made and both ties are exciting/nervy/scary. The Scottish Cup draw was made for the fourth round of the competition, but it didn’t bring out too many exciting ties (not compared to the league cup). Greig is as confident as ever for his side. Krys and I start by discussing Scotland humping Georgia 1-0, and all the positives that came from that. We face Poland tomorrow night, which is ever more important after they beat Germany. Neil Lennon recently signed on as Bolton manager, so we discuss whether we think it was the right move for him and his team. It’s the dream team this week – me, Krys, Greig and John. Celtic’s defeat against Hamilton brings up a discussion on Deila’s time at Celtic so far and whether players/clubs are professional enough in Scotland. We also discuss how we feel our clubs are doing so far this season. Well, Krys and Greig do, John and I make do with a score out of ten. I qualify my rating out of ten in case there was any confusion. Scotland vs Georgia is coming up next week and we are all confident of a result, as well as being confident of leaking a goal or two.
