  • S2E14 Back to the Future

    29/10/2012 Duración: 01h13s

Laurie, Krys, Greig and I (Craig) return once again. Krys delivers his SPL roundup in typically professional style. We then discuss the standout moments of the weekend. I cover the SFL roundup, including a 61 year old stand in assistant referee. Laurie casts his eye over Twitter, in the section called Tweetie Eye. Kilmarnock hadnt won at Celtic Park since December 1955, so we discuss significant moments that have happened since then. Lennon described Victor Wanyama as a £25 million player. We ask whether this was an accurate assessment. I pick the charity bet once again and base my selections on teams I can pronounce. We conclude with our predictions for the upcoming SPL games. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E13 Goal Celebrations and the Cost of Football

    22/10/2012 Duración: 59min

Krys returns after his nose job, so naturally he talks us through the SPL games. The BBC recently did a report on the cost of attending football matches, so we discuss the findings. The weekend past seen some interesting goal celebrations (Ambrose being a standout), we discuss some memorable celebrations. I also list the dangers of extravagant celebrations. Krys takes his turn on the charity bet, after another failure. We finish by looking ahead to Celtic against Barcelona, as well as the upcoming SPL games. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E12 Scotland Special

    16/10/2012 Duración: 01h10s

Krys is missing due to his nose job, so it’s me, Krys and Laurie. Scotland faced Wales and Belgium in an away double header, so naturally that is the focus of the podcast. Lauri’s Tweetie Eye returns. I can’t say whether David Preece receives another mention. You will have to listen to find out. Laurie picks the charity bet, after Scotland, and Greig, let us down last week. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E11 Football Songs

    08/10/2012 Duración: 49min

Krys is off having a nose job this week, but it doesnt stop him from delivering the SPL roundup via pre-recorded review. I lost the charity bet last week, so Greig takes over the reigns. Laurie continues to edit the podcast and it has a less lazy feel than when I did it. Songs with a football edge is the main topic of the day, with Greig coming up with a few good Aberdeen ones. Once again, we appreciate any comments you have on the show. It’s international football next weekend, so we have decided to leave next weeks recording until after the Belgium game on Tuesday. Will we be celebrating, or commiserating? I think we know the answer. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E10 Negative Vibes From the Stands

    01/10/2012 Duración: 01h01min

Greig is missing due to parental duties, but Krys returns from his Holidays. Laurie also joins us to complete the threesome. Laurie takes over the editing this week, and he makes a good job of it. Gone are the days of my magic button, and instead we have background music and wee tunes. The main topic this week focuses on negative vibes from the stands and whether that affects the players. We won the charity bet last week, so I get to pick it again since it’s winner stays on. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E9 SPL, SFL, League Cup and the Scottish Cup

    24/09/2012 Duración: 30min

Laurie provides the SPL roundup and I provide the SFL roundup. It seems to be a laugh at Rangers special this week, but I will ensure it doesnt happen next week. To end the episode, Greig shows us his beatbox skills, which is definitely a must listen. Beware of some foul language on this weeks episode. Next week will hopefully be obscenity free. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E8 Footballers are D**ks

    17/09/2012 Duración: 47min

Laurie takes over Krys' duties this week and gives us the overview of the weekend’s SPL games, before we discuss them in detail. We discuss the situation between Craig Levein and Steven Fletcher and Greig sums up the situation by declaring that “footballers are d**ks”. The charity bet fails once again, but Greig still attempts to pick three games for our tenner bet. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E7 Reaction to the Draws Against Serbia and Macedonia

    11/09/2012 Duración: 44min

Laurie makes a return to the podcast, joining Greig and Craig. Krys is on holiday. We discuss the fallout of the draws against Serbia and Macedonia games. Is our campaign over already? Should Craig Levein go now? And, in Greig’s case, do we care? Laurie picks the charity bet this week, and with his gambling history, we will hopefully do well. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E6 Early Scotland Memories and the International Break

    03/09/2012 Duración: 49min

The dream team return, and after a false start, we start with Krys’ review of the European, League Cup, SFL and SPL games. This coming weekend is an international break, so we discuss our early memories of Scotland and also discuss Scotland’s upcoming games. In the SPL predictor, thefootygaffa won the August prize and he offered his prize money to the charity bet, which we are very grateful about. He also sent in his suggestions for a bumper charity bet. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E5 The Youth of Today

    27/08/2012 Duración: 52min

The dream team return – Craig, Greig and Krys. Youth seem to be given the chance throughout Scottish football, so the time is right to discuss why this is happening and the benefits this brings to the national team. The charity bet has predictably failed, but we try again. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E4 Transfer Fees

    20/08/2012 Duración: 53min

Greig returns to join Krys and I. Transfer fees is the main topic of conversation. Specifically it’s how much English teams pay for a player from Scotland. Krys once again provides his SPL and SFL review and we discuss the main talking points. Following another poor week, Greig picks the Paul Band Charity Bet, with four sure things. Thank you to McBookie for donating the charity bet stake.

  • S2E3 Should Division Three Players Be Considered for the National Team?

    13/08/2012 Duración: 41min

Greig takes a week off, so it’s me, John and Krys for this show. Krys gives us his regular SPL run down and John talks us through his day at Pittodrie. Ian Black has been called up to the Scotland squad, and it has led to many questioning whether a third division player should be considered for the national team. We give our thoughts on this subject. McBookie have pledged to donate the £10 per week stake for the charity bet, in what can simply be described as a great gesture. Thank you. Unfortunately we got three out of three wrong last week, my bad, so Krys takes on the role of bet selector. There are two ends to this podcast as I totally forget about the predictions. That wasnt my only mistake, because I think I referred to STV as SPL, on more than one occasion. Thanks for listening. Enjoy.

  • S2E2 Would Team GB Work Long Term?

    06/08/2012 Duración: 37min

The first round of SPL games are done, so we discuss who has impressed us so far, and who hasn’t. In this week’s topic, we discuss whether Team GB would work longer term. Whether it could be used as a replacement for the individual nations during the World Cup, or the European Championships. Thanks to OutsideMid on Twitter for the suggestion The first Paul Band charity bet came up trumps, so we attempt to repeat the feat by picking the next bet live on the podcast. As always, we end the show with our score predictions, as well as a look back at how we did last week.

  • S2E1 2012-13 Season Preview

    30/07/2012 Duración: 34min

Craig, Krys and Greig return to preview the upcoming season in the SPL, 1st, 2nd and 3rd divisions. The charity bet returns, and once again it’s a controversial selection, even though it was intende as a banker.

  • S1E46 Podcast in a Pub

    28/05/2012 Duración: 01h07min

To mark the end of the season, we decided to ditch Skype and record the podcast in a pub. Laurie sorted us out a free function room in the Pony bar in bath street in Glasgow. I was obviously joined by podcast regulars Laurie, Greig and Krys, with a number of others joining in the banter too. From the forum, we had Gary (Pele), Michael(Grumpy Old Man) and John (Johnarob). From previous podcasts, we had Tom (from http://www.scottishfootballblog.co.uk/), Scott (fromhttp://www.thefootyblog.net/) and John (laconic). Topics include the alternative player of the year awards, the future of Scottish football and highlights of the season. The podcast was recorded in a pub with the beers flowing, so the language gets a little colourful. Craig

  • S1E45 Scottish Cup Review

    21/05/2012 Duración: 44min

There were no SPL games at the weekend, but we did have the biggest Scottish Cup final in years. Laurie definitely enjoyed the post match celebrations and he gives us his account of the match from his view from the stands, and we comment on the game based on our view in front of the TV. The Scottish Cup might have been the high profile game of the weekend, but there were also the second legs of the play off finals from the SFL, which we discuss. The Paul Band charity bet ended on a low, but the main positive is that we managed to achieve £140, which will be on it’s way to Yorkhill.

  • S1E44 The Final Games in the SPL and the Scottish Cup Final Preview

    14/05/2012 Duración: 01h11min

It is a full house as Laurie, Krys, Greig join me to discuss the final weekend of the SPL. Well, three of us discuss the SPL games, because Laurie didn’t watch any of the highlights. Laurie also tells us how nervous he is in the run up to the Scottish Cup final and we all give our predictions for the game. The Paul Band Charity bet has had a few lean weeks, so we take a slightly different approach to this weeks bet. Laurie is on editing duty, which you will probably realise with the ending to the podcast. Craig

  • S1E43 Relegation and European Qualification

    08/05/2012 Duración: 01h22min

Laurie makes his long awaited return to the podcast after a sabbatical to concentrate on his uni work. You can tell he is in charge of editing again when you hear the intro music (Ed - we had to take the music out after ten years because of copyright!) Greig is sick (not like that) and misses this week, so it's me (Craig), Krys and Laurie. We cover two rounds of SPL ties in this busy podcast. With the season coming to a close, we see 3rd and 4th place being secured, as well as the relegation spot being decided. Laurie takes over the Paul Band charity bet, after another poor performance last week. Finally we preview the final SPL games of the season. Craig

  • S1E42 Goals, Goals, Goals and the Final Old Firm of the Season

    30/04/2012 Duración: 58min

The SPL had twenty four goals over the weekend, so there is plenty to discuss in this week’s podcast. On Sunday there was the last Old Firm game at Celtic Park, with Celtic winning 3-0, so there is obviously a lot of praise for Celtic, and perhaps the opposite for Rangers. Krys chose the Paul Band charity bet last week, but after under performing I take over the selection process.

  • S1E41 Post Split SPL Banter

    23/04/2012 Duración: 59min

Greig, Krys and I have been described as the dream team (my words), but I read a couple of humorous podcast reviews that suggest otherwise. It was only after the podcast that I realised I should have read out positive reviews as well, but that can maybe wait until next week. This weekend seen the first matches in the SPL following the split. The Championship is tied up, but the fight at the top is for the remaining Champions League qualification spot in third. St Johnstone faced Dundee United, who both have eyes on 3rd, and Motherwell face champions Celtic. At the other end of the table, Dunfermline and Hibs were both in action in the hope they can avoid the drop. Krys steps up to the plate with this week’s Paul Band charity bet. I let everyone down with only one win out of four, so hopefully he can do better. Next week sees the final (ever?) Old Firm of the season and we stick our necks out and try to predict a winner. Celtic got two votes and Rangers got one. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to guess who
