  • S1E40 Scottish Cup Semi Final Special - Goals, Celebrations, Handballs and Neil Lennon

    16/04/2012 Duración: 01h09min

Greig returns to join Krys and I for this week’s podcast. With two Scottish Cup semi finals this weekend, there is plenty to cover. There were six goals, with one being particularly tasty, and two stand out celebrations, with one including a dummy(no offence Leigh) and one being potentially the best celebration you will see at Hampden. In the Hearts vs Celtic game, there were a number of contentious decisions, so we try and cover those as impartially as we can. During this discussion, I get out the FIFA rule book, to discuss the definition of a hand ball, and try to persuade others that a penalty was the correct decision. Following Neil Lennon’s rush onto the pitch, and subsequent Twitter comments, we discuss how he is maybe a nice guy really and just needs to work on his public persona. We were going for a third Paul Band charity bet victory in a row, but alas it was not to be. I take the honour of picking this week’s matches, in the hope we can add to the pot. The SPL returns this weekend, with the first of

Yorkhill has been chosen as the charity to benefit from the charity pot at the end of the season. We conclude the podcast with our predictions for the final SPL games prior to the split.

  • S1E36 Killie Win the Cup and a Preview of Rangers vs Celtic

    19/03/2012 Duración: 01h02min

Congratulations to Kilmarnock, who made history as they won the League Cup at the weekend, by beating Celtic 1-0. We discuss the main talking points of the game, including a debate on whether the late penalty claim should have been given. I did predict the 1-0 victory to Killie, but I don’t like to go on about it  There is an update on the Paul Band Charity, which only managed a 50% success rate last weekend, with there hopefully being a change in fortune with next weeks prediction. St Mirren play Hearts in a Scottish Cup replay on Wednesday night, and we predict who will progress to the semi finals. It’s an important weekend for SPL title, with the possibility of Celtic clinching the title depending on certain results in the Kilmarnock vs Motherwell game and the Rangers vs Celtic game. We give our predictions for the aforementioned games, as well as the other four SPL games.

The Scottish Cup quarter finals took place, with Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic progressing, with St Mirren and Hearts going to a replay. Sunday sees the league cup final between Celtic and Kilmarnock and we make our predictions on the scoreline and winner. We also predict the SPL games that are due to take place, with Rangers' visit to Tannadice and the Edinburgh derby being two stand out games. • S1E34 SPL Review and a Look Ahead to the Scottish Cup

    05/03/2012 Duración: 01h02min

Krys continues his duties as part of the core podcast team, with Greig being this weeks special guest. The Scotland game gets out focus at the start of the podcast, however Greig isnt too interested in the game itself. We continue with our usual SPL review. Luckily Laurie is still on his holidays, or I would have to endure his gloating for the entire hour. Rangers inevitably get a mention, with player redundancies still unknown at the time of recording on Monday evening. We preview the sole SPL game of the coming weekend, with our main focus being on the Scottish Cup ties.

  • S1E33 SPL Banter and Slovenia vs Scotland

    27/02/2012 Duración: 55min

Laurie is taking a sabbatical, so I am joined by Krys and Greig to discuss the past week in Scottish football. The podcast starts with a review of the latest SPL games from last week, as well as the weekend. The Paul Band Charity Bet got three results correct at the weekend, but unfortunately two were wrong, so there was no return. We mention the bet for next weekends games, with over £100 up for grabs if they all come up. Scotland travel to Slovenia on Wednesday night, so we attempt to predict the result, although the predictions are not altogether serious. The game is live on http://primetimelive.co.uk/ for £4.99. We conclude the podcast with a look ahead to the weekends SPL games and make our weekly predictions.

  • S1E32 Rangers and the Scotland Squad for Slovenia Game

    20/02/2012 Duración: 01h10min

Krys continues his regular guest spot by joining Laurie and I on this weeks podcast. Laurie started a couple of polls and we discuss the results. Poll one asked whether you prefer cup games to be played to a conclusion, or to have a replay. The second poll asked whether the SPL would be better or worse without Rangers. We discuss the latest Scotland squad for the upcoming friendly against Slovenia, focusing on key inclusions and exclusions. Paul Band gives us this weeks Paul Band Charity bet after my woeful effort last week. This week’s podcast marks Laurie’s last show before taking a short break to focus on his studies, so there is a sad tinge to this podcast. Craig

  • S1E31 Rangers Imminent Administration

    13/02/2012 Duración: 01h19min

It’s a full house on this week’s podcast, with Laurie and I being joined by Krys and Greig. To start thing of, we discuss the news that Rangers have filed their intention for going into administration. With a Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell and Rangers fan on the podcast, we try to give our balanced reaction. As a Motherwell fan, Greig, gives us his own experience of administration. We also review the weekends SPL games, with Greig owing me money for his Ojaama hatrick tip. I take the opportunity to pick this weekends accumulator for the Paul Band Charity Bet. This week’s £5 bet has a potential return of almost £50.

We make our predictions for the upcoming SPL midweek games, as well as the full card on Saturday. Following Laurie’s impression of Kenny Shiels last week, he gives us another impression, which reminds us why he isn’t a professional impressionist. Last week’s Paul Band Charity Bet didnt come up, so Paul give us this weeks selections, with odds of over 70/1 up for grabs.

    30/01/2012 Duración: 01h25min

Craig, Laurie and Greig run through the League Cup semi finals and SPL games from the weekend, focusing on the main events during the games. The transfer window closes at 11pm on the 31st of January, so we discuss the latest rumours and predictions for the final day. We also take a look at Hearts, who escaped punishment from the SPL following their latest wages saga. With the new look Paul Band Charity Bet in mind, we look ahead to the weekends Scottish Cup games and build our £5 accumulator.

  • S1E28 Gestures, Handbags, SPL, Scottish Cup and League Cup

    23/01/2012 Duración: 01h08min

Greig makes a return to the podcast, joining Craig and Laurie “the sidekick”. Krys couldn’t make this weeks show, because he was enjoying a spa day with his wife. Following Johnny Hayes and Richie Foran’s handbags in the Scottish Cup, we discuss refereeing consistency. Following a look at the Scottish Cup replays, we look at the weekend’s SPL games, which threw up a couple of surprise results. Aberdeen winning a point at Ibrox and Dunfermline beating Killie 3-0 being particular standouts. At the weekend, Griffiths and Higdon made gestures towards the crowd, which leads to us discussing whether it is serious enough to warrant a two match ban. The podcast finishes with our attempts at predicting the score in the upcoming SPL games, as well as the Scottish Cup semi finals.

  • S1E27 SPL Review and a Focus on Hearts' Current Situation

    16/01/2012 Duración: 01h07min

Craig, Laurie and Krys discuss the weekends SPL games, with Laurie reading out comments from forum members. Recording took place on Monday evening and the latest news was that Hearts had paid, or were about to pay, their players on time, so that led to discussion on the situation. Laurie recently wrote an article on Rudi Skácel and during the podcast recording, he received an email notification that Rudi was following him on Twitter. As you can imagine, Laurie was chuffed. We preview the three Scottish Cup fourth round replays and attempt to make our predictions. We take a different slant to the Paul Band Charity Bet after a barren spell, with an accumulator on the SPL games coming up at the weekend. The games themselves are picked following our own personal SPL score predictions. To discuss the podcast, please join us on Scottish Football Forums to discuss the SFF podcast, as well as discussing the latest events in Scottish football.

We cover the Scottish Cup 4th round games that took place this weekend, with a focus on the Ross County, Motherwell, Hearts, Celtic and Rangers games. Greig and Laurie also take a less than positive look at the 5th round draw. We finish by making our usual attempt at predicting the upcoming weekend’s SPL games, with Laurie on a bit of a run going on previous weeks.

  • S1E25 The Best and Worst Bits of Scottish Football in 2011 and Podcast Highlights

    30/12/2011 Duración: 01h12min

To celebrate the landmark 25th episode, we have two guests on the show – Scott, fromthefootyblog.net, and regular guest, Krys. We look back at our best footballing moments of 2011, as well as the worst. Laurie created a number of highlight clips, including one specifically for me (Craig) and one for Laurie. After hearing my “best bits”, it’s fair to say that I should really try to cut back on the mentions of alcohol and Sandaza. We also look at the SPL games that were played on the 28th, including the second old firm of the season, and look ahead to the first round of games in 2012, including the new year Edinburgh derby.

    19/12/2011 Duración: 01h48s

Krys joins Laurie and craig for this weeks SFF podcast. The weekend seen two goal of the month/season contenders, as well as some less positive aspects such as diving and violence, so we discuss these as part of our SPL review. Since Christmas is just around the corner, we decided to record a special version of Merry Christmas Everyone. Johnarob from the forum wrote the song, with various podcast guests  providing the singing talent. The singers, if you can call them that, are (in order of appearnce), Craig, Johnarob, Krys, Greig, Laurie, Marc and Laurie again. Merry Christmas from everyone from the SFF podcast.

  • S1E22 SPL Review/Preview and Penalty Kicks

    12/12/2011 Duración: 58min

Greig joins Craig and Laurie on this weeks podcast. Aberdeen drawing despite leading by two goals after seventeen minutes, Dundee United coming from two goals behind to win three two, Scott Brown’s handbags and Wanyama’s superb strike are just some of the weekend’s incidents that are covered in our SPL review. Following the penalty miss/save in the Celtic vs Hearts game, we discuss the gamesmanship involved and give our views on it. This also leads onto discussing who our ideal penalty taker would be, with Laurie counting down. Greig steps in to pick the Paul Band Charity Bet for one week only and insisted it be renamed the OneManClapping Charity Bet, but I declined. On the forum Camshy started a thread titled Christmas Poems, with forum members getting their poetry caps on. In honour of that thread, I read out Camshy’s poem. If you want to read more poems, they are also available in the collection of Christmas poems 2011 virtual hardback book
