Open Borders
25/10/2018 Duración: 38min“We Call Ourselves A Nation Of Immigrants Because thats What We Truly are” Ronald Reagan This is a topic that interests me mainly because all I’ve ever heard was. Open borders is bad. Why are you yelling it if no one is arguing it? First I have to say. When Hillary Clinton talked of open borders, She was talking to bankers about a global economic system. Not a physical border between countries. Even here, we talk more about regulating, and documenting the flow of people. Not opening a border My theory however, since it’s my show is to discuss the idea of neutral zones along the border. If immigrants are coming here for opportunity, Why are we not moving the process to where we want them to stop? If we worked with Mexico. Used land and existing communities already in place, built up the infrastructure with courts, colleges, housing, and technical universities. If we built a military base along the border, working with Mexico to train together, and eradicate crime instead of walling it off. If the U.S and Me

The Untold History of Disability
24/10/2018 Duración: 32min“Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” -Francis of Assisi Treatment and perceptions of disability have undergone transformation since the 1900s. This has happened largely because people with disabilities have demanded and created those changes. Like other civil rights movements, the disability rights movement has a long history. Examples of activism can be found among various disability groups dating back to the 1800s. Many events, laws, and people have shaped this development. To date, the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the subsequent ADA Amendments Act (2008) are the movement’s greatest legal achievements. The ADA is a major civil rights law that prohibits discrimination of people with disabilities in many aspects of public life. The disability rights movement continues to work hard for equal rights. This talk looks at our unexamined and inherited perceptions of people with disability. Beginning with ancient Greece and ending

The Rationality Of Suicide 1-800-273-8255
23/10/2018 Duración: 49min1-800-273-8255 The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals. This is the first of a series of lectures on suicide. Two very distinct contexts are presented in which the subject can be further explored. The first is rationality and the question of under what circumstances it makes sense to end one's own life. The second is morality and the question of whether we can ever ethically justify resorting to suicide. The lecture's focus is on the rational requirements of suicide, and Professor Kagan introduces a number of cases which demonstrate that ending one's life, in certain instances, may be rationally sound. DACA - Fighting For The Dream Of Freedom
22/10/2018 Duración: 18minCivil Rights Are Human Rights And Human Rights Are Civil Rights Because this is who we are now for some reason. It makes me sick as an American and frankly less safe in my community. Suddenly isolated because the average of my demographic portrayed in the media is this racist shit, or someone so eager to be brown that it’s a weird version of Jim Crow reversed. Why is it one side has to compromise identity to offer an appearance that it’s the only way to get along? There is no Brown conspiracy to change America. I wish the same people that deny climate change caused by man could see the demographic of this land they live on in the same way. White is not indigenous nor is black, For thousands of years, brown people flowed back and fourth on this land we call America. It was white people that built a damn called an imaginary border. From maps and google, we here know where the border is, but it’s not an actual line on the earth. Just as you keep people out, you trap people in. Your imaginary line. Like the un

Prison Rape
20/10/2018 Duración: 16minThere Is No Justice, There Is Only Just Us In the #MeToo era, punch lines about sexual assaults in jail remain acceptable. But to Rodney Roussell, they’re a painful reminder of the nine years he spent in prison, where he was raped and sold into sexual slavery. The Power of Money
18/10/2018 Duración: 25minThe Power of Money by Federal Reserve System Publication date 1994 Usage Public Domain Our financial institutions to a majority of Americans is like the internet. We don’t know how it works but we are happy to use it. We trust in others to regulate our economy but struggle under the results. If people have more money they are willing to pay more for something, but when half of the population has nothing, suddenly they can not afford what others can. As well I think. If those with the money are the ones selling products, they have no basis in reality for their pricing. Look. You don’t get there economy. I don’t get it either. It’s my belief that the They out there running the federal reserve know that, and count on it. Lets learn something here that may spark a moment of insight, and a possible interest in something that affects you as much as air water or happiness. This episode focuses on the Fed's monetary policy responsibility, using the Fed's response to inflation of the late 1970s as a case s

Building Trust
15/10/2018 Duración: 12minby Chicago Police Department-2000 “Public Access America has always had one hope, one goal. And that would be, if you know what I know, only then can wen move forward together. Since we can never truly understand the perspective of another, we can maybe set some base ground rules. I might not know why you do what you do, but I don’t have to. I and you can move happy knowing that at it’s worst. This would be the base line. Acting this way to another human being is basic. Zero impact on the scale. This is the Police saying when you see us. This is what you can expect. You don’t need worry about every little detail. We are the police and here to protect and serve you as a permanent, temporary, but current human in our great city.” In early 2017, the United States Department of Justice concluded a yearlong civil rights investigation of the Chicago Police Department. The investigation confirmed what many Chicago residents already knew—that CPD has a history of serious problems endangering the lives of both resi

Ravi Zacharias-When You Re Sinking Into Hopeless

In a time of helplessness and unbelief—when he was on a bed of suicide—the truth of Scripture brought hope to Zacharias, and he committed his life to Christ, promising, “I will leave no stone unturned in my pursuit of truth.” Earlier in John 14, Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” This verse has become the cornerstone of Zacharias’s ultimate mission as a Christian apologist and evangelist: to present and defend the truth of Jesus Christ that others may find life in Him. Zacharias’s calling to preach was first confirme
