  • "The Song of Fools" - J. Davy Crockett III

    04/09/2018 Duración: 04min

It seems that every generation has its own style of music. Someone who grew up in the 1940s probably enjoys the sounds of the “big band” era. Then, in the late 40s and early 50s, the plaintive sounds of country music filled the airwaves as tales of heartache and hard times were set to music. From the classics to the singing celebrities of the “Grand Old Opry” to the age of electronica today, music certainly seems to “tug at the strings” of the human heart. • A Certain Generation - Ben Maddox

    04/09/2018 Duración: 04min

The year 1963 is remembered for significant events that occurred in the United States and in Southeast Asia. The rest of the year would be no less grim. Full text here - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/a-certain-generation

  • The Last Minute - J. Davy Crockett III

    04/09/2018 Duración: 04min

There is a wry old saying that “if it weren't for the last minute, I would never get anything done!” Many people live by this premise. Tension certainly builds as a critical deadline nears or a crisis looms, and the potential for a hazardous or devastating outcome can be exciting. Movies, television and adventure stories often use this scenario, where events seem out of control as the hero or heroine, in grave danger, is faced with overwhelming odds and impending disaster. Then, at the last minute, with superhuman effort or sudden brilliant inspiration, the dangerous situation is averted and all ends well for those who, moments before, were on the brink of annihilation. • Father Knows Best - Roger Meyer

    07/08/2018 Duración: 04min

In the latter half of the 1950s, there was a television program called “Father Knows Best.” It was “squeaky clean” and wholesome compared to most of today’s programming. • The Cup - J. Davy Crockett III

    03/08/2018 Duración: 04min

There is a persistent legend that holds a fascination for many people, especially those of a religious bent. Since the Middle Ages, some have sought a mysterious object, often resulting in armed conflicts with loss of life and property. This “quest” has been the subject of theatrical plays, adventure novels and even comedy routines. At this point, you may have surmised that the object of this legend is the religious relic known as the “Holy Grail,” or in some circles as the “Sacred Chalice.” This relic is thought to be the very cup used by Jesus Christ at the “Last Supper.” Another facet of the legend is that Joseph of Arimathea drained some of Christ’s blood into this cup at Christ’s internment. • Political Correctness - J. Davy Crockett III

    03/08/2018 Duración: 03min

Political correctness: it is a term that brings with it a shudder, a twist of the mouth, and often a sarcastic remark.
