  • Mothers Should Be Honored - Roger Meyer

    26/05/2017 Duración: 04min

Each of us had a mother who carried and nourished us in her womb until we were born. Most of us had a mother who rocked us, fed us, burped us, and bathed us. She kissed our skinned knee, sent us off to school in clean clothes, and made sure we did our homework. She taught us right from wrong and a thousand other lessons. Our mothers should be honored. • Is GOD Sorry? - Brian Pomicter

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

When I was a boy, my grandmother used to send our family copies of a Pennsylvania newspaper, Grit, which published only good news. Grit displayed news and features aimed at rural America, and climbed to a weekly circulation of 100,000 by 1900, and reached nearly half a million by its 50th anniversary in 1932. Grit is still printed today as a bimonthly magazine, and its memorably optimistic mission statement has remained with it through the years… Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/is-god-sorry

  • The Other Hand - J. Davy Crockett III

    16/05/2017 Duración: 03min

I have a friend who is an amateur magician. His sleight-of-hand tricks are quite amazing, and children and adults enjoy them immensely. Part of the mystique and fun is trying to figure out how the tricks are done. My friend says with a smile, “Always look at the other hand”—since the performer may be distracting the audience with his comments and one hand, while accomplishing the illusion by doing something unnoticed with the other hand. • Brexit: Why A Snap UK General Election? - John Meakin

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

Theresa May, the British Prime Minister, surprised almost everyone on Tuesday, April 18 by announcing her intention to call a UK general election on June 8 this year. This came about, despite May repeatedly saying she would not go to the country until 2020, as mandated by statute. The next day, Parliament declared itself overwhelmingly in favor of a June election (522/13 votes). Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/brexit-why-a-snap-uk-general-election

  • Great Again?—100 Days of Mr. Trump - Ryan Dawson

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

“Make America great again”—it was Mr. Donald Trump’s campaign promise as candidate, and now has become his mission as President. The first 100 days of a U.S. presidency are often the benchmark used to measure and predict the success—or, perhaps in some cases, lack thereof—of the executive who holds the United States’ highest office. The question remains: Can America be great again? Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/great-again%E2%80%94100-days-of-mr-trump

  • Trains To Freedom - J. Davy Crockett III

    16/05/2017 Duración: 03min

Seeing a tattered American flag displayed on the home next door after a windstorm, my aged father-in-law—a Colonel retired from the United States Air Force—set out to offer his neighbor a replacement for the damaged flag. I accompanied him as we met the neighbor, a short, portly man with white hair and a big smile. He had not realized that his flag was in tatters, and he graciously accepted the new flag as it was offered. Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/trains-to-freedom

  • Where Am I? - Roger Meyer

    16/05/2017 Duración: 03min

At some time or another, we have all been temporarily lost—turned around, going the wrong way, on the wrong road, or at the wrong address. Perhaps we received bad directions, saw a misleading road sign or missed a turn, or encountered unforeseen obstacles in our path. How do we get to where we are trying to go? • Should children be in church? - Wallace G. Smith

    16/05/2017 Duración: 03min

Apparently, there is a growing topic of concern in Christianity these days: "Should children be in church?" One morning, as I sat going through the day's news, I read an interesting article on the matter in the Wall Street Journal—"Seen and Not Heard in Church," by Laura Vanderkam. • Sisters - J. Davy Crockett III

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

In literature, entertainment, and sports, the subject of sisters interacting always seems to be popular. For generations, people have enjoyed the classic works of the Bronte sisters, and their widely read novels, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and Agnes Grey, have inspired plays and movies. In the music field, the Andrews Sisters enjoyed popularity for a generation, along with the McGuire Sisters. In more recent times, the musical group Dixie Chicks, founded by two sisters, enthralled audiences with their high-energy performances. In professional sports, Venus and Serena Williams dominated women’s professional tennis for over a decade. Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/sisters

  • Nothing Is Too Hard - Roger Meyer

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

The very young often encounter things too hard for them. Within just a few years, however, a young man at the peak of his mental and physical capacities can feel that nothing is too hard—but all too quickly we learn of our limitations. • Lee Strobel's Mistake in "The Case for Christ" - Wallace G. Smith

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

I just saw the movie “The Case for Christ,” based on Lee Strobel’s book by the same name, depicting his investigation into the facts of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And what strikes me most is not Strobel’s search, but where it ended. Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/lee-strobels-mistake-in-the-case-for-christ

  • Stars In Your Sky - Richard A. Wilson

    16/05/2017 Duración: 03min

Jesus Christ loved children. Knowing how precious and valued they are, He said: “‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.’ And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them and blessed them” (Mark 10:14–16). • Thorns and Thistles - J. Davy Crockett III

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

Most people try to avoid prickly situations. You know, those awkward, uncomfortable moments when one says or does the wrong thing, which is embarrassing for all concerned. The customs and procedures most people consider “good manners” resulted from the need to have standards of social conduct that govern courteous, considerate human interaction. • Why is it Called Easter? - Roger Meyer

    16/05/2017 Duración: 04min

Of the Easter rabbit, it admits: “The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility.” The rabbit was the symbol of the festival of Eostre, the pagan goddess of fertility. Christianity “adopted the observance into the Easter ceremonies” of many other pagan Eostre customs. Full Text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/why-is-it-called-easter

  • Brexit: The Start Gun - John Meakin

    21/04/2017 Duración: 04min

Nothing has divided Britain more over the past 40 years than the question of its place in Europe. It joined the nascent EU in 1973 for economic reasons—with the assurance that there was no political dimension involved. Full text at - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/brexit-the-start-gun

  • A Friend In Need - McNair

    21/04/2017 Duración: 04min

Who is a friend in need? There are few things as satisfying in life as a good friendship. Children crave friendships intensely, and we continue to cherish our friendships through life’s waning years. The “texting” shorthand “BFF”—“Best Friend Forever”—speaks to a heartfelt desire that is almost universally felt. Who would not want a friend with whom we can share our days of happiness and joy, who will also be there for us when things are not going so well? We need the return of Jesus Christ to finally set this world right. He promises that we will have joy at His return. “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you” (John 16:22). • The Reason for the Rearview Mirror - Jonathan McNair

    21/04/2017 Duración: 03min

Some time ago, I was traveling down the interstate when a most surprising thing happened. We were in the middle of a snowy day, which is actually not the surprising thing, considering January weather in upstate New York. What was surprising, however, was the cascade of snow, ice, and gravel that landed on top of our windshield just before we went under a bridge. • A Water Fountain - J. Davy Crockett III

    21/03/2017 Duración: 03min

As I entered the county courthouse in the small Southern town where I grew up, it was a special day for me, because at age 14, I was going to take my license exam to obtain a driving permit. While I waited my turn, I walked around the old building with its high ceilings and creaking floors. Full text at - http://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/a-water-fountain
