Episodios

  • Clinging to Life - J. Davy Crockett III

    31/08/2024 Duración: 04min

Nursing homes are places that I have often visited as a minister. Such visits can be a vivid reality check regarding the dramatic effects of aging. These “assisted living” and “memory care” facilities are places for men and women who have reached the point of needing care that their families, for whatever reason, are unable to give. - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/clinging-to-life

  • The "Thought Police" - Roger Meyer

    28/08/2024 Duración: 04min

You may have seen news stories about “mind reading” becoming technologically possible. What was once science fiction is close to becoming reality. Will doctors, law enforcement, and government agencies, assisted by such technology, soon be able to read and interpret our brain waves? Are “thought police” and mind control in our near future? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-thought-police

  • If I Were a Rich Man... - Roger Meyer

    22/08/2024 Duración: 05min

What if money were no object? Who hasn’t had this question put to them by a friend or acquaintance? What would be your answer? Would you decide to travel, buy a house, or pay off your mortgage? Would you “party hearty,” or would you bank a sizable sum? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/if-i-were-a-rich-man

  • Leaders to Confusion - Roger Meyer

    17/08/2024 Duración: 04min

Do some of the decisions made by our leaders leave you feeling befuddled and confused? We may think to ourselves, “How could any rational human being come to such strange conclusions and make such decisions?” - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/leaders-to-confusion

  • A Disastrous Season of Discontent - J. Davy Crockett III

    14/08/2024 Duración: 06min

Smell the smoke? Hear the pop-pop-pop of gunshots? Is that the wailing, grieving parents surveying a bloody scene? Is that the sound of breaking glass? Do you hear sirens of first responders and law enforcement? That must be the chants of protestors you hear along with the smell of tear gas. The summer sounds of tree frogs, crickets, and night creatures have been drowned out by the elements of an incredible crime wave in many cities in America. Or is it Paris or the streets of Britain or some other urban area in the world where violent civil unrest has become commonplace? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/a-disastrous-season-of-discontent

  • Growing Up - Roger Meyer

    10/08/2024 Duración: 04min

As parents, we desire that our children grow up to be sensible, mature adults with good character. Everybody grows up physically, but not everyone grows up mentally and emotionally—and spiritual maturity is another matter entirely. One can find numerous articles and scientific studies about human growth and development in areas of human maturity, including physical, mental, and emotional maturity, which are all debated in different branches of science. Most would agree that growing to maturity is a process that takes time, and that reaching maturity takes longer for some than for others. - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/growing-up

  • Are You Easily Offended? - Roger Meyer

    03/08/2024 Duración: 05min

In recent years, a lot of attention has been given in the news, politics, and academia to the notion of “offenses” and “microaggressions” over numerous potential slights, offenses, and “triggers” that people claim to experience. Sometimes it seems as though individuals and groups everywhere are determined to find things to be offended about—and often find them. But is it healthy to be hypersensitive to any perceived offense? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/are-you-easily-offended-0

  • What Do You Desire? - Adam J. West

    31/07/2024 Duración: 04min

If you could ask for anything and receive it, what would it be? There was a man in ancient times who did that very thing! He asked for one of the greatest things anyone could ever desire, and he did receive it! Who was this person, you might ask? What did he request? And how was his request granted? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/what-do-you-desire

  • I Love Being a Grandpa - Roger Meyer

    27/07/2024 Duración: 04min

Being a grandparent is one of the best “jobs” in the world. Children and grandchildren are truly a blessing, a gift, a heritage, and a reward. They are our posterity, and they are an “inheritance” from God. Have you talked to your grandparents recently? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/i-love-being-a-grandpa

  • The Most Important Election - J. Davy Crockett III

    24/07/2024 Duración: 05min

The Western world exerts tremendous energy and spends huge amounts of money on political elections. It seems like the campaigning never stops. Since money is “the mother’s milk of politics,” there are endless fundraising events bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars or euros or pounds, or whatever is the national currency. All forms of media are used to promote the bid for office—and the power that goes with it. Inordinate sums of money are spent to win elections to offices that may have relatively modest pay. Often people of ordinary financial means, after being elected to and serving in office, leave public life years later with great wealth. - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-most-important-election

  • When Does A Day Begin? - Wyatt Ciesielka

    20/07/2024 Duración: 04min

Some contend that while the Jewish Sabbath is the seventh day of the week, the Christian Sabbath is the first day, or Sunday. Others believe that the Sabbath is on the seventh day for everyone. To further complicate things, some claim that, biblically, days don’t begin in the evening but instead begin in the morning—thus, even the Sabbath should start on Saturday morning instead of Friday evening at sundown. What day is the Christian Sabbath? Do biblical days begin in the evening or the morning? And why does any of this matter? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/when-does-a-day-begin

  • What the Critic Says - Roger Meyer

    13/07/2024 Duración: 04min

We’ve all received criticism—at home, in the neighborhood, or in a workplace—for something we did or didn’t say or do. Perhaps we at some point have been the critic. How should we handle criticism? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/what-the-critic-says

  • Little Things - J. Davy Crockett III

    10/07/2024 Duración: 04min

“Little Things Mean a Lot” was a very popular hit song that made it to the number one spot on the charts in the USA and the UK in 1954. Subsequently, many other recording artists have released their versions of this song. While it has nice lyrics and a lovely tune, the title really says it all. In life, we often look for the big events or the very significant occurrences that make a big splash or great impact. And yet, it is the little things that we do daily that cement and enhance relationships. The little kindnesses, the thoughtful acts, the courtesies and consideration shown to others without expecting anything in return reveal a person’s true character and their love of others. - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/little-things

  • A Living Stone, I Presume? - Roger Meyer

    06/07/2024 Duración: 05min

The phrase “Dr. Livingstone, I presume?” became famous after an American correspondent by the name of Henry Morton Stanley hunted for and finally found in 1871 the “lost” African explorer and missionary, Dr. David Livingstone. This famous phrase is still occasionally recounted when someone meets again a “long lost” friend after many years. But there is another “living stone” we all need to seek and find. The Bible describes Jesus Christ as “the Living Stone.” - Full text - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/a-living-stone-i-presume

  • The Shifting Sands of Mainstream Christianity - J. Davy Crockett III

    29/06/2024 Duración: 05min

Major Protestant denominations of Christendom are in the throes of controversy, some to the point of dissolution. Millions of members of the Southern Baptist Convention, the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Churches of America, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Pentecostal World Fellowship, the Anglican Communion in the United States, and many smaller denominations are in a state of angst. - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-shifting-sands-of-mainstream-christianity

  • Plagues of Locusts - Roger Meyer

    26/06/2024 Duración: 04min

In recent years, farmers have been forced to watch helplessly as unprecedented swarms of locusts have marched across their lands, relentlessly devouring everything in their path. And these plagues may well be only foretastes of others to come. What does Bible prophecy tell us? - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/plagues-of-locusts

  • Should I Keep Pentecost? - Josh Lyons

    08/06/2024 Duración: 05min

The biblical festival called Pentecost in the New Testament is coming up soon, taking place on June 16 this year. The word Pentecost comes from the Greek word meaning fiftieth, since it is observed after counting 50 days, beginning with the day of the wave sheaf offering during the Days of Unleavened Bread (Leviticus 23:15–17). Pentecost describes the festival usually called the Feast of Weeks in the Old Testament (Exodus 34:22; Deuteronomy 16:9–10, 16), but is also referred to as the Feast of Harvest (Exodus 23:16) and “the day of the firstfruits” (Numbers 28:26). The New Testament directly refers to Pentecost three times (Acts 2:1–4; 20:16; 1 Corinthians 16:8). - Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/should-i-keep-pentecost

  • Four “Sacred Names” Errors - Wyatt Ciesielka

    05/06/2024 Duración: 06min

By what name should we call God? Is a specific language or pronunciation required? Does honoring God’s name require us to use Hebrew or Hebrew-related terms for God or Jesus—such as Yahweh, Yah, Yeshua, Yahushua, or Jehovah—as some claim? https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/four-sacred-names-errors - Full text here

  • Millions of Abortions, Not Enough Babies - Josh Lyons

    29/05/2024 Duración: 05min

Birthrates have been falling for decades in numerous nations around the world, presenting a serious and growing population crisis. On May 13, 2024, the Wall Street Journal published an article titled “Suddenly There Aren’t Enough Babies. The Whole World is Alarmed.” The article began, “The world is at a startling demographic milestone. Sometime soon, the global fertility rate will drop below the point needed to keep population constant. It may have already happened. Fertility is falling almost everywhere, for women across all levels of income, education and labor-force participation. The falling birthrates come with huge implications for the way people live, how economies grow and the standings of the world’s superpowers.” Full Text Here - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/millions-of-abortions-not-enough-babies

  • Harrison Butker's Speech: Right, Wrong, and Possibly Prophetic - Wallace G. Smith

    25/05/2024 Duración: 06min

Getting more flak than most of his fellow kickers would if they had missed a 20-yard field goal, Kansas City Chief’s Harrison Butker “kicked up” quite a controversy with his recent address at the Benedictine College 2024 commencement. His speech deserves attention—for what it gets right, what it gets wrong, and how it could (believe it or not) tie into Bible prophecy.
