With tonight's episode we see the last of the "I'm here for the experience" clueless players exit the game. We're finally down to a set of folks that are actually interested in playing to win which makes the stakes much higher and more interesting at each turn. The tribes are at even numbers now. The merge can't be too far off. These next couple of episodes are going to be key in deciding which tribe enters the merge with the numbers to control their destiny. Looks like Aitu's plan was to "kidnap" a powerful player and take them out of the game. Was that the best use of the kidnap option? Is Brad the next to go on Rarotonga? Ok, let's try this again. Who is really in charge at Rarotonga now? After episode 4, we thought it was clearly the women. Now, we're not so sure. As Listener Bob in Minnesota pointed out last week. Female alliances are rarely sustainable. Do you think they will really be able to regroup and come back to win after losing their weakest physical player? Say goodbye to Puka Puka and Manahiki. Unless you missed the preview commercial or the LF show, you knew there was a merge coming. That seemed like a pretty fair way to distribute the teams, but this show stood out for another reason too. This turned out to be another one of those episodes that left us wondering more about what we didn't see than what we did. What happened to Candice on Exile Island? Was there another clue and another idol already hidden there? Did Rarotonga chow down on that octopus? And most importantly, did Yul gift the Hidden Immunity Idol to Becky before Tribal Council? That was an interesting twist this week. I believe we just witnessed the birth of a stalker on an episode of Survivor. We're really enjoying the change in format. Are you as psyched about the new season of Survivor that starts this Thursday as we are? We can't wait, and what better way to get ready than a preview show where we wade in and share our extremely biased views on how we think all the new castaways will do before we ever get to see them in action? Our "Judge a Book by its Cover" show gives us an excuse to get to know the new Survivor contestants and sharpen our psychic powers as we do just what our parents and religous leaders taught us not to do which is to judge people on surface detail alone, without any real knowledge of who they are. It's time to kick off a new season of Survivor with our traditional "Judge a Book by its Cover" show. We want to hear what you think about the 20 new contestants for Survivor Cook Islands.There's not a lot of information to draw on. It's not clear yet how all these diverse people will interact with each other or what agendas they plan to follow throughout the game. Study their pictures, read their bios and let us know how well you think they will do this season. We of course want to hear what you think about the decision to divide the tribes by race. Part 5 concludes the story of Stacy's adventure this summer at the BOSS 14 Day Field Skills class and focuses on days 12 through 14. Day 12 begins the Student Expedition phase of the journey. At this point, the students are given a set of maps and directions for their way points on each day, along with the phone numbers of key staff in case they have an emergency. The group's first goal is to hike up out of the gulch on their way to the sandstone tanks. They will meet back up with the instructors at the end of day 13.
