In episode 4 The Melting Pot discuss their recent trip to Birmingham’s edition of Nerdvana and how pleasantly surprised they were that Comic Book creators took the issue of diversity very seriously. In the Comic Book Village section of Comic-Con you can find the works of independent artists ranging from a harrowing horror comic involving archaeologists uncovering demonic hell beasts in their excavations to illustrations of hypersexualised males and females covering their nether regions with cacti. The Melting Pot trio of Amo, Fatima and Thomas spent most of their Con chatting to these independent creators about their work, whether they treat the issue of diversity as a precursor or an afterthought. Comic-Con, for the uninitiated, is where those invested in the world of Nerd Culture come together to celebrate Comic Books, Anime, Manga, Video Games, films and Sci-fi. Waves of Gokus, Deapools and Spider-Men can be seen perusing the stalls for nerdy swag, participating in competitive Video Game competition

Shahrukh khan's latest silver screen outing 'FAN' entails the Bollywood superstar playing himself and a very enamored fan. FAN: The Game is to be released alongside the Shahrukh Khan Bollywood film and can be likened to the hugely successful Bejewled series. In this episode the Melting Pot of Amo, Fatima and Thomas discuss the history of Bollywood Video Game adaptations as well as the problems with the Video Game market in India.

Taking a break from the more hard hitting issues that have been covered of late the Melting Pot trio of Amo, Fatima and Thomas regale the tales of what cemented their passion of Video Games. Fatima comes up with a truly epic idea for the brown narrative involving the Gulabi gang who are a group of Indian female vigilantes who provide aid to oppressed and abused women in the country. The group has been active since 2010 and it has been reported that they number in the region of 270,000. The women wear pink saris symbolizing strength and carry bamboo sticks that can be used as weapons!

The third episode of the DESIblitz.com - The Melting Pot! In this episode, Amo, Fatima and Thomas tackle the very serious issue of gender in gaming. In the games themselves we talk about whether or not there are a lack of female protagonists, are female characters hypersexualised and how NPC's are portrayed. Whereas, outside of games we discuss the harassment female gamers receive online as well as the adversity faced by those who work within the industry. Also, Thomas comes up with great idea for the Brown Narrative. Drawing on inspiration from rickshaw runs, Oregan trail and 80 Days you set off on a cross-country journey through India with only a few rupees and a rickety rickshaw. The gender and race of your character would affect the narrative and difficulty of your adventure. A three dimensional South Asian Video Game character is about as rare as seeing a unicorn riding a shooting star towards a Wendigo who was doing battle with a shiny Mewtwo. It is startling that the DESIblitz gaming writers could only come up with five South Asian Video Game characters of any note; a statistic that needs to change in the near future. Furthermore, Fatima comes up with the idea of having a Grand Theft Auto game set in India for the Brown Narrative segment.
