  • BONUS TRACK: "BLUEJACKET JOURNAL" LIVE SHOW (1989)

    13/11/2016 Duración: 32min

Like the title says, this live show was performed and recorded in 1989, staged as a mock radio broadcast to entertain the ladies of "WAVES National", an organization whose members had served or were still serving in the U.S. Navy. This show marks the first time I created an audio performance, and it would be roughly a dozen years before I did it again. The performers are 26-year-old me and my good friend at the time, John Bayer, who was about the same age, probably. He shared my love of old-time radio and we had a lot of fun putting on this show, playing all of the characters the way radio comedy pioneers Bob & Ray would.  I lost touch with John Bayer after leaving Atlanta, but I hope he finds out about this and gets a chance to listen to it. Likewise, I hope you enjoy the younger version of myself, who was serving in the Navy at the time. WAVES, by the way, stands for Women's Auxiliary Volunteer Emergency Service, which goes back to World War I. Nowadays all women serving in the Navy are full-fledged Sa
