Valerio Bastioni is an Italian DJ, born and raised in beautiful Rome. From the moment he discovered Techno music, he loved it immediately. Valerio Bastioni found his personal sound, which is very hard and fast techno, with a lot of percussion. But he is not afraid of some good acid or a massive classic banger. Valerio Bastioni recently started producing his own tracks and he hopes to release some material very soon.

Axel Martens, better known as Mindflash, is a German DJ and producer from Schortens in the northwest of Germany. He’s djing since 1994 and is the founder of the “Deep in the Groove” and “Deep in Techno” sessions on mixcloud and soundcloud. In the 90’s Mindflash established the “Brain Vibes Team” in the northwest of Germany with a party series there. He was a resident DJ in the techno-club “Shelter” in Wilhelmshaven and organized parties in many locations like “Waking up a dead planet”, “Brain Vibes” and “Phuture Phase”. House and Techno were permanent companions in his life. Since the beginning of 2018 Mindflash is producing guest mixes for several shows and he’s a returning guest on Technochannel’s beats2dance. Do I have to say that I like uplifting techno? The energy that comes out of these rhythms can be so overwhelming, in a positive way. Selecting music for me is finding a balance between a dark vibe combined with beautiful sounds. These sounds can be very melodic but also hypnotic soundscapes. For me DJing is always trying to balance between two worlds. On the one side, I look for raw energy and explosive power with repetitive rhythms. For today’s episode we have a guest who is making his second appearance. A few months ago KOWA delivered a mix for the show and I was so happy about it, I wanted him to be part of the show once again. And boy, he did it again. The mix is full of great techno tracks, new material and some cool classics. KOWA is not only a great DJ, he is also a good producer. Together with Alessandro Sajeva he created two tracks which will be soon released on Retail records. Both tracks, Jack Herer and Purple Haze are more complex than the standard techno tracks. They have different layers and are more complex than straight forward techno. When I am preparing a DJ set I am always looking for a rhythmic structure and a futuristic sound. To achieve that goal I search for tracks which incorporate elements of techno, tight sub basses, some ambient and a touch of IDM.
