It pushes the envelope in every concievable way, and will stoke the embers of the Zombie genre in ways nothing has since Zach Snyder tried his hand at it. Andrew continues to fumble through his exploration of folk horror, going back to the roots of the subgenre. Today's feature is Vincent Price's Witchfinder Genearl. This one was streaming on Shudder recently, but is currently unavailable. Another of many films to put in the physical media arguemnt. This one should be streaming mainly because it's a frenetic masterpiece starring an icon of Horror. Join Andrew for a Sunday Triple Feature of Lake Placid, Crawl, and the classic Alligator. Unfortunately, the only one currently streaming on a subscription service is Lake Placid on Hulu. That one is worth the Betty White performance alone. The others, you either need a physical copy or need to pony up for the rental fee. If you're up to it, the Scream Factory 4K of Alligator is flawless. That was a fun first time watch. Join Andrew as he spends his Sunday with some Gators. 

Nic Cage stars in the most Nic Cage movie of All time,"The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent". If you're a fan of Nic Cage, you'll probably enjoy him in the role he was born to play; Nicolas Cage! See For Me, a co-release from Shudder and IFC Midnight stars Skyler Davenport as Sophie, an ex-professional skiier who now watches homes after losing her sight to an accident. An app called See For Me exists in this world to both help her get around a new house, and also escape from assailents in a home invasion. From writer/director Riley Steams, and star Karen Gillan, Dual arrived in theaters last week. The film has a good premise, taking place in a world where we can replace ourselves with a clone to comfort our loved ones when we pass on. Too much of the online discourse seems to be about how X sucked, Hereditary was over rated, Midsommar is terrible, the kid in The Babadook needs to die, and Jordan Peele doesn't deserve the budgets he gets. ENOUGH! Instead of engaging with the trolls online, join Andrew for a one sided rant about the state of modern horror. Honestly, it felt good to get it out of the system. Like a really good virus, I want to spread The Empty Man around. Since it was released in theaters during the pandemic when no theaters were open, not very many people saw the film. The Empty Man deserves an audience. While not perfect, it is ambitious and audations. Streaming on HBO. Give Empty Man a chance, you won't soon forget it. 

If you enjoy a good negative rant, I have an episode for you! I took a trip to an IMAX theater this weekend to suffer through the new Michael Bay movie, AmbuLAnce. I don't know what I was thinking with this completely reckless decision. Guess I just wanted to see a good, destructive movie set in LA. Since AmbuLAnce didn't satisfy that hunger, a return to 1994's Speed was called up to save the day. For years, I have dismissed Michael Bay as a director who makes the worst sorts of movies, unless they're starring Nic Cage. There's a rumor swirling around that Mike has made a movie or two of some value, 13 Hours being the best of them. Since there's a new Bay movie out this week, I decided to give 13 Hours a chance. Let's find out if Michael Bay's version of Benghazi is a good film, or a propaganda film. Maybe, just maybe, Bay is the guy to dispel all the politics and just focus on the events. Stranger things have happened in this universe. 

Spoiler Free Episode After being held hostage by Los Angeles and New York for 2 weeks, Everything Everywhere All at Once is finally coming to a theater near you. Beloved director Mike Flanagan declared it one of the best films he'd ever seen, and its IMDB score has eclipsed the godfather, so the hype/anticipation for this film is extremely high. When Andrew Watches Movies started, the goal of the podcast was to shine a light on movies that would go unseen if a friend didn't recommend it. The normal blockbuster usually leaves me underwhelmed, so I spend my movie watching time trying to uncover hidden gems. The Cursed, an atmospheric Werewolf movie set in 19th century France, is a prime example of this type of movie. It's been in theaters for a while, and has also been availble for rental. There just hasn't been enough buzz about it to get most people to hit play on their remote. Well, I'm here to start a little buzz.
