Sinopsis
Hi, my name is Andrew, and I watch movies. I have watched thousands of movies in my life, and enjoy writing, and talking about them. There is no discrimination based on genre or age here, I watch 'em all, and podcast about them. Sometimes, I even watch the movies with other people, and have an after movie conversations on the show. I hope everyone enjoys the evolution of this podcast, and our journey through the film world together. Let's start the conversation!

Pet Sematary, Us, The Mule, and Dragged Across Concrete
12/04/2019 Duración: 01h07minJoin Andrew at his new location for a new episode of Andrew Watches Movies. Brian joins for a trip to the Cineplex to see the new adaptation of Pet Sematary. The conversation veers into Jordan Peele's Us, and Andrew takes a walk on the right wing side with Clint Eastwood's The Mule, and Craig S Zahler's Alt-Right fantasy Dragged Across Concrete. All political jabs in jest.....or are they?

Mad Max Quadrilogy
05/02/2019 Duración: 01h15sToday we travel to George Miller's Australian dystopia, Mad Max. Will each one hold up as well as it did when it came out? The new one set the bar for modern action, so will it be tough for the old ones to match up, or will "The Road Warrior" kick ass much ass as ever. Tune in to find out.

Paterson
01/02/2019 Duración: 44minOur assignment this week was a pleasure. Somehow we missed Jim Jarmusch's film "Paterson" up until now. Adam Driver was pretty incredible in this meditation on a poet bus driver. It's streaming now on Amazon Prime, and one you should move to the top of your queue.

Universal/Blumhouse News and The Road to 1000
31/01/2019 Duración: 56minTune in for a different sort of episode today. Frankenstein and his army are coming back! This time it's a merger between Universal and Blumhouse. We aren't usually a news show, but this was too exciting to ignore. Something crazy is being done this year, Andrew is trying to watch 1000 movies. Join for a rundown of January's journey.

"Ted Bundy Tapes", "Ginger Snaps", "Kuso", "Polar": A Stream and Chill episode
28/01/2019 Duración: 01h02minIt's Mid-January, and the Cineplex was bare, so Jess and Andrew stayed home and streamed this weekend. Netflix provided a major new release for us to binge this weekend. "Confessions of a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes" was fascinating and left us speechless in the end. We also revisited a classic that is now on Amazon Prime, "Ginger Snaps." If you've never seen this gem, there is no time like the present. Andrew took a chance on a Shudder original from musician Flying Lotus. "Kuso" was extraordinarily weird, and we aren't sure Andrew fully recovered from it. The weekend was rounded off with a shoot-em-up splatter-fest starring Mads Mikkelsen. Anything with him is worth seeing, even this.

IMDB Name Game- Jeff Goldblum
26/01/2019 Duración: 46minWe had a guest in the studio for this episode. Eric from the Cinemaddicts group was in town and invited Jess and Andrew to play a game with him. More pleasant than a Jigsaw invention, the purpose of this game is to scour the resume of an actor who we think we know well, only to find things we completely forgot existed. Join us as we explore the resume of the great Jeff Goldblum.
-
Wild Tales
25/01/2019 Duración: 58minJoin Jess and Andrew as they pay off their assignment for the week. "Wild Tales" was an extraordinary film that we had missed, and are guessing has alluded many others as well. This Argentinian masterpiece isn't streaming anywhere but is well worth the rental price. Join us for our conversation on the film, hopefully, you're able to track it down. Log in to use Ginger Limited mode in our conversation about the film ×

"Glass" "FYRE", and "The Standoff at Sparrow Creek": A New Release Episode
24/01/2019 Duración: 51minJoin Jess and Andrew as they explore some new releases. The pickings are slim at the Cineplex, so we Netflix/VOD'd and chilled a couple of these. The competing FYRE docs on Hulu and Netflix are must-sees for anyone breathing the social media air. "Glass" was either a fitting end to the series or repugnant trash, we will break it down. "The Standoff at Sparrow Creek" is an indie gem for anyone who loves Hard Boiled tension.

Resolution, Spring, and The Endless
23/01/2019 Duración: 44minLast week we looked at a tangentially related trilogy with "The Raid 1&2" and "The Night Comes for Us". The exploration of those titles was so satisfying that we decided to make the relation between films in a creator's cannon a regular thing. This week Andrew is taking a look at a trio of films from Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead, all taking place within the same universe. "Resolution" was an amazingly low budget debut for the pair, and they continued their momentum through "Spring" and last year's "The Endless". Join along as we take another (hopefully) fun and informative discussion.

2019 Oscar Nominations
22/01/2019 Duración: 40minJoin Jess and Andrew as they react to the 2019 Academy Awards Nominee list. This is going to be a shit-show today. Unhappiness abounds.

Trilogies: "The Raid: Redemption", "The Raid 2", and T"he Night Comes for Us"
15/01/2019 Duración: 39minDue to an abundance of time on his hands, Andrew has decided to explore some interesting trilogies whether directly related, thematically, or tangentially. "The Raid: Redemption", and "The Raid 2" were 2 of the greatest action movies of all time. Much of the cast followed this up with "The Night Comes for Us". All three are highly recommended and covered on this episode.

"Lifechanger", "If Beale Street Could Talk", "Green Book", and "Dumplin'": A New Release Episode
10/01/2019 Duración: 01h01minJoin Jess and Andrew for their discussion on two movies in the Cineplexes and two movies that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. We love uncovering hidden gems, and this year's "Lifechanger" qualifies as a big one. This is streaming on VOD, and we suggest you give it a chance. It's low budget, so judge it on the ideas instead of the money it took. "If Beale Street Could Talk" was our favorite movie of the year, join us for our discussion on it. "Green Book" is either a uniter of a film or a sanitized lifetime movie that you can take your Grandmother to. You be the judge. Netflix's "Dumplin" is something we should have hated, but we didn't. Watch Jennifer Aniston play the best "Rachael Green" she has in years.

In the Mood for Love
09/01/2019 Duración: 30minJoin Jess and Andrew for a discussion on Wong Kar Wai's masterpiece "In the Mood for Love". This heartbreaking film was the selection for our "Wheel Assignment" last week. If you are unfamiliar, we have a prize wheel with movie selections on it. We spin it each week to get a selection for our "movie club". In a perfect world, everyone would be watching this along with us. We invite you to join along.
