Christ WILL SAVE HIS SHEEP! While it isn't popular, it is the truth. Jesus will save His sheep and NONE of them will be lost. So, when we share the faith we trust in the work of Christ alone and we can rest in the assurance that the Gospel given through the Word is life for all it is intended. We can sleep well at night knowing that when someone rejects the gospel that they are rejecting Christ and that only God can cause a hostile mind to believe! We are not "on the hook" for failing to convince others to believe. God declares and God prepares! We don't have to feel the pressure of GETTING the answers to every unbeliever in order for them to be saved. God saves divinely through the hearing of the Word (Rom 10:17), and by the Spirit who is the Word of Life (John 6). We proclaim and God does the saving supernaturally. My Buddy is not Evangelism! Learn the Word of God! If you need food and I don't have any food there is nothing I can do to help you eat. The same is true if we desire for God to use our mouths to bring His sheep to faith. If we are not learning the Scripture, we are not being prepared to have proper evangelism in our lives. Outlines, acrostics, pneumonic devices, "roads", examples, apologetics, evidence etc. cannot bring ONE person to faith. Only Scripture can give you the tools to give others the truth! All Talents are for the Church! Mutual benefit, encouragement, upbuilding etc. is the purpose of all the gifts that the Lord has given us. We are not our own, but we have been bought with a price. In our current culture, the trends toward evangelism have spiraled out of biblical norms. We have independent teachers and self-gloried preachers who feel they are called to "do what the church is not" and thus they feel justified in their disobedience. One sure measure of a healthy congregation is that the elders who teach are equipping, by the Word of God, the saints under their care in order to do the work of the ministry. Including evangelism. Because It Matters! Sometimes in our conversations with people about truth, they will come to the point of saying, "Does doctrine really matter? Is theology necessary? Can't we just have Jesus? You Devil You! Look at this tree in my eye! Your dusty specs are truly a problem. Dealing with sin is hard enough in our own lives, but what to do when we have to address it in each other? Why is it so hard? What does the bible say? I'm not talking about someone sinning against another, but when we sin wilful or habitual sin in the lives of our siblings in Christ. Jesus Loves Me, This I Know! FOR THE BIBLE Tells me so.  How is that?
